Vehicle Detail

Selling a 1974 Alfa Romeo that is a stand-out example of a Series 2 Spider and has been meticulously cared for by an enthusiast owner. The car was originally purchased in San Francisco and has spent its entire life in the Bay Area until I purchased the vehicle in June 2015 and shipped it to Indiana. My plan was to use this vehicle as a daily driver and to take adventurous trips during the Summer/Fall hauling ass down the twisty hilly roads of Southern Indiana but unfortunately I landed a job outside of the United States and thus I must sell. While the Spider was in the Bay Area, vehicle maintenance was performed by Glenn Oliveria of Oliveria Engineering in Berkeley, California. For those of you who do not know, Glenn Oliveria is considered by many Alfisti to be one of the finest Alfa Romeo mechanics in the Bay Area. This Spider has had numerous performance upgrades and basic routine maintenance competed within within the recent past and below represents the highlights of work completed. 1. Dual stage RED urethane paint applied by Rhodwork of San Rafael, California. Car shines like new!2. Rebuilt suspension that makes the car corner like it is on rails. Improvements include the following: A. Centerline performance springs (front and rear) B. Tie rod ends, ball joints and adjustable control arms.C. Koni Red shocks. The standard for Alfa Performance!3. Almost NEW Stebro stainless steel exhaust - sweet sound!4. NEW very hard to get Alfaholics GTA Veloce wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires (Wheels alone are $900!)5. Cylinder head rebuilt by Jon Norman of the Norman Racing Group in Berkeley including (within 700 miles):A. NEW 11. mm lift camshafts & cam followersB. NEW Isky valve springs & large valvesC. Head port matching and polishing.6. Professionally rebuilt and tuned Weber 40 DCOE carburetors by Oliveria Engineering in Berkeley, CA. Tuning Webers is a science and Oliveria has his PhD!7. Recent items installed by Oliveria Engineering:A. NEW clutch disk and pressure plate includingB. NEW clutch slave cylinder and master cylinderC. NEW Electronic ignition & hot Bosch coil D. NEW water pump 8. Almost NEW Optima battery BONUS:-Dashboard is in great shape.-Newer cloth convertible top with clear window. -No rust on the car and even the spare wheel well is in good condition. -The car really looks and sounds great and people notice the car!-Never driven in the rain.-Car cover provided.-Alfa Spider repair manual provided.-Alfa promotion material provided.-Dual Carburetor Euro Air Box The car is not showroom new, but is certainly in great shape with a straight body for being 41 years old. I have done my best to disclose all the known information regarding this Alfa and hence it is being sold "As Is" but I strongly suggest that prior to bidding you or your mechanic come by to check out the car in person. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have concerning the car. The fine print:*Placing a bid on eBay, it is a legal contract, and your are committed to purchasing the car if you end up being the highest bidder. *If you are not interested in purchasing the car, PLEASE do not bid and respect the process of eBay. *$500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction ending via pay-pal or EFT (electronic funds transfer). *Remaining balance paid within 7 days of winning auction via EFT. *Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements however I am more than willing to help with the process. I have great success with uShip in the past - check it out. Minor issues:-Passenger side interior grab handle loose (easy fix)-Small chip in paint on the hood near the nose (shipping company calling card) ($200 already deducted from the Buy It Now price)-Passenger side door handle works intermittently ($200 already deducted from the Buy It Now price)-No door keys but door can still be locked by pulling up on the interior door handle ($120 already deducted from the Buy It Now price) Thank you,Good luck and happy bidding On Sep-10-15 at 19:32:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to an unscheduled business trip, I will be out of the country until, 19 September. If the car sells, I can still help the winner make arrangements for vehicle shipping or collection but will not have access to vehicle until the above mentioned date. Apologies for any inconvenience but as mentioned above my new job has me working out of the United States. Also the 'Buy it Now" price has been reduced! Good Luck!
