Vehicle Detail
Good survivor coming out of 6 years of garaged storage in California. Car ran perfectly when it was stored. 1972 2.0 liter without the rust problems that most 914’s suffer from. No rust in trunk floors, sills or battery tray. Good clean interior with minimal wear. Mileage unknown as odometer was replaced by previous owner. Paint is good to ok, shows a little crazing, probably a B or B-. A B+ from 10’ away but that is subjective. Sound mechanicals but it has not run in 6+ years. Front OEM roll bar. Bilstein rear shocks. Shifts as good as any ’73 or newer side shift (better than my origional 914-6). I will have it at my house by mid day Saturday August 29th. Have a new Optima battery on order and will be draining gas and doing an oil change. Price is for the car as it now. I will be sending it off for a tune-up and checkover and will add new tires in early September. Price will then be about $2,500 more when it returns. Will add more photos Saturday. Email me and I will be glad to respond or send you my phone number. On Aug-27-15 at 13:35:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Good survivor coming out of 6 years of garaged storage in California. Was trying to correct the model year in the description. The 914 is a 1974 model. Not a 1972 as I miss typed in the first description. On Aug-30-15 at 10:50:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Add additional pictures with notes. Found three rust areas and photographed and described them. Also found that window had been cracked while in storage, photo included. Paint crazing was more limited than I remembered. See photo of largest area about 2-3 other areas smaller that this one. Photos of interior and engine/battery tray included. I strongly recommend contacting me to view the car before bidding. I want to have a satisfied buyer. Also, I am not able to make arrangements to ship the car locally or overseas. All arrangements will need to be made by the buyer.
