· TOWN HARDTOP (Blind Quarter Roof-Painted) *Body Serial Code: 81 *Body Style Code: 63C This was a new model for 1966. No rear quarter windows were provided on the Town Hardtop! This model featured standard Safety-Convenience Control Panel with the overhead roof console and by CouponDropDown">warning lights, molded headliner panels, and a console-mounted vacuum door lock control. *The Town Hardtop was a 1966-only model, and would not be used again. *This is a California car originally sold in L.A. in 1966 *Manufactured in November *Original color was Sauterne Gold *It has the optional reclining passenger seat *AC, pwr. Windows including pwr. Quarter windows, locks & brakes & driver seat I drove this car into my garage 9 months ago and started to restore this vehicle. I ended up completely removing the interior including the entire dash! All wires and vacuum lines were traced and repaired and the vents repaired. The heater core was removed and replaced. All light bulbs including dash lights were replaced! New insulation, padding and carpet was installed (there was no rust or rot). Headliner and side panels recovered. The driver’s seat was completely reupholstered with new foam all original. There is a new ignition and neutral switch. The radio was replaced with a new electronic am/fm mp3 radio specially made for this Thunderbird to appear original ($400) all speakers’ front and back were replaced with factory spec speakers and new OEM antennae! Front disc brakes needed attention so driver’s side rotor was replaced and all new pads. Bearings were redone and front and rear struts replaced! Entire fuel system was replaced with new gas tank, gas lines, fuel pump, and rebuilt 4bbl carburetor! The oil pump, water pump, timing gear and chain, power steering pump, all hoses and belts, gaskets, thermostat, plugs, wires, rotor & points, cap, coil, all filters and battery saddle have been replaced. The sequential light system restored, the trunk completely cleaned and repainted (also have trunk kit). Replaced the trunk gasket, new trunk lock assembly. Replaced all rims with proper Thunderbird rims (solid) have full size spare! Removed radiator and had it acid washed and tested! All fluids are new! I have all the receipts for work done totaling over $5k. The gas tank has not even had gas in it yet! The car needs to be timed and adjusted! An emergency forces me to discontinue this project and make room in the garage for a handicap vehicle. There isn’t a car out there with so much already done. The paint needs to be redone! There are still some weather-stripping in the doors that need to be installed but I have them. I also bought a compressor for this car that is included! This car is rust free the flooring is all solid and not patched!! Every individual piece of chrome was polished (by me) and there’s a lot! I intended to finish this car and drive it myself which is why I concerned myself with so much detail work, but circumstances force me to let it go! While I understand I will not get all my money back I will not give it away!*** I HAVE ALL RECEIPTS FOR ALL NEW PARTS MANY WITH WARRANTY'S!!!
