Vehicle Detail
I have owned this since 1998, and have maybe put 20 miles in total on it. Completely disassembled, and it took almost 7 years to get it back together. The core work is done, but many smaller details remain unfinished. It has been moved with me all over the country, paying shipping each time I move. Car is in Springfield, MO at my sons house, and I am now in Nashville, TN. I don't want to pay to ship it anymore. 1965 Corvette Convertible, 4 Speed, numbers matching (double stamp on engine pad). Car was bought in the Bronx, shipped to Chicago where it was restored. frame off, bolt by bolt. Paint was done by Harmony Corvettes (Marengo, IL). Engine by Skips Automotive (Lincolnshire, IL) Car has been started quite regularly, but has sat undriven for a decade. The tires are probably flat spotted, and car was never road tested to work out any kinks that may or may not be there. New buyer will want to torque all nuts and bolts, change fluids, and fine tune car before any extended driving occurs. Is it road worthy? I cant say with any accuracy. opinion only is that yes it is, but bring a 9/16th if you plan to drive it home. I recommend trailer until it is safety checked. Known Issues Paint is beautiful and correct everywhere except the top surround. This is the only piece of glass that was replaced (with correct glass) and Harmony obviously didn't seal this properly as there is "solvent pop" in numerous spots on this particular piece. the photos give a fairly accurate idea of the problem. Paint is over 10 years old, but the solvent pop didn't show up until the car was uncovered the summer after I received it back from Harmony. Car had been moved out of state during this time, and going back to get it fixed was not an option at the time. The clock would drain the battery, and was removed and put in ultra safe hiding to someday be reinstalled. Unfortunately no one knows where ultra safe hiding is, and as such the clock can not be found. If its ever found it will be sent to the buyer. Speedometer was not rebuilt. Radio was rebuilt, but only works when it wants to. both tops are included, both need restoration.
