Vehicle Detail
It's time to sell some of my toys. For 51 years old, this classic black 64 SuperHawk is in pretty nice condition. No trailer queen here, just a real nice rider. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say this is a 7.5 - 8. First the bad. The right muffler has a couple of small (very obvious) dents. The front fender has a dent right on the top-middle and the front of the fender has been touched up with silver paint. There are a couple of chips here and there in the paint, one on the top of the gas tank that is hidden when the cap is on. The engine case paint is worn, and the lower front fork legs could use repainting. It will need a new rear tire, as the one on it has cracks in the sidewalls. (It is holding air though) Now the good. Cosmetically - the chrome overall is pretty decent. The tank badges and wheels are very nice, but the sissy bar chrome is worn. The turn signals have very small pits or dots, but all four work as they should. With today's drivers, they are a nice addition. (I know the SuperHawks didn't come with turn signals, and I suspect this is a set from a (later) CB 350, installed by the previous owner..... many years ago) Mechanically - everything works as it should. Electric starter, kick starter, horn, turn signals, all lights, brakes, speedo, tach, etc. Still has the original tool kit with Honda scissors. The bike has a new speedo cable, new genuine Honda gas cap, (the gasket on the old one was funky and I didn't trust it) brand new NOS headlight rim, (the old one was dented and I couldn't stand looking at it) and a brand new 12N9-3A battery. One of the things that really impressed me when I took it out of storage, is the fact that it still has great compression. The original seat is in pretty good condition too with one small tear at the front left, right up by the gas tank. It idles, runs, and shifts very nicely. From 10 feet away the bike is beautiful. When you get up closer you start to see where it shows it's age. From what I have seen on Ebay lately with similar Hawks I think the reserve is price is very fair. And how about that 1970 Triumph TR6R in the background? Interested in a two-fer? There is no title in Rhode Island with a vehicle this old, but the previous registration and a notarized bill of sale should be all you need in any state. I will assist where I can with shipping, but ultimately that is up to the buyer. As always with my auctions, feel free to ask questions before bidding. On Aug-21-15 at 20:25:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify a couple of things, the Triumph is NOT part of this auction, and this Super Hawk is being sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied.
