We have had this 57 Fairlane 500 2 dr. sedan for about 7 years, I replaced the gas tank and fuel lines as needed and drove the car some in the summer, it then sat for 3-4 years and I realize I'm not going to get to it to finish it any time soon so I am putting it up for sale. I just redid the entire brake system, new master cylinder, all 4 wheel cylinders, all new shoes, hardware as needed, brake lines as needed, and all 3 brake hoses. The car runs and drives, has typical play in the steering box, the trans works as it should, it has some oil leaks and trans leak but not pouring out. the frame is solid and the body mounts are good except for the two behind the back wheels, they will need some attention, it had a used car paint job 11-12 years ago, which is the only repaint on the car, its showing its age and the repairs they made are showing thru, its a straight car for the most part, but will need lower 1/4 repairs, panels included, lower fender repairs, panels included. The deck lid is rough but I have a pretty nice used one that goes with the sale.The trunk floor has had two places repaired but over all is solid, the floors are solid with the exception of the pass. rear pan, it will need repaired but this car doesn't need pans. The windshield is broken but I have a new tinted/shaded one that goes with the car, I also have a real nice tinted rear glass that is included. it will need side glass and there are 6 piece kits available. I have some of the trim for the out side of the car, as in the roof side mldgs., the top of the fin mldgs., rear window mldgs. that I will include in the sale. the interior was done by an amateur sometime ago, its not tore up but its not real nice either, The pictures tell the story, I can send under car pics upon request. Overall its a nice foundation for a restore or drive it as is it still turns heads and get compliments everywhere we go. To answer a few questions I've had, the core support is solid, the front cross member is solid, yes this car has only had one repaint, you can tip the moldings back and see the original paint, the car came from Kentucky originally.
