Outstanding 1987 Porsche 944 S with only 64,786 miles. The S Edition features a high performance dual overhead cam, 16 valve, 187 hp 2.5 litre engine, progressive springs for better handling, larger front and rear anti-roll bars, revised transmission and gearing to better suit the DOHC rev limit. Produced for only two years, 5,224 were built in 1987. It is obvious by the outstanding condition of this 944 S that it has been meticulously cared for and properly stored. The original owners service records from the Porsche dealer are included up till 1998. The timing and balance shaft belts were replaced at 47,000 miles. This car has only been driven 10,000 in the last 17 years. Excellent Auto Check, zero reported accident history and only two owners. The body condition is almost flawless. The paint finish appears to be original and shines like a mirror. Factory clear vinyl body paint protectors are in place and in excellent condition. The original wheels are outstanding and the Michelin tires have excellent tread. Headlights and Sunroof function properly. The rear spoiler is outstanding with no cracks, dry rot or decay. The cabin condition is superb! The black leather seating is soft, clean and as near perfect as you could find. The carpeting is clean, not worn or faded, even the Porsche carpet mats are in beautiful condition. The power seat operates properly. The dash is not cracked or faded. The gear shifter boot is soft and unworn. All gauges appear to be functioning properly. The Blaupunkt factory sound system is intact and working, however we have not tried the cassette player. Rear cargo carpet and cover are in great condition, the cargo cover needs a little persuasion to retract. The compact spare tire looks as if it was never used and the factory compressor kit is included. We have the owners manuals and Porsche portfolio case. The power windows are working nicely. Now lets talk performance! This 944 S drives wonderfully. It shifts properly and clutch works smoothly. The engine sounds and performs as it should. Ride is firm, smooth and remarkable, you would not believe it is 28 years old. The engine compartment is ready for the auto show, although a critter did chew on the left side under hood insulation. The air conditioning system is charged and the air compressor runs however it does not blow cold air. Possibly a problem with the diverter doors in the heater box. If you are looking for a sports car that will turn heads but also is a pleasure to drive, this is your car. Excellent mechanical and physical condition. Used, minor scratches- not noticeable, a few stone chips on front facia and flaws that are age appropriate for a 1987 model. The air conditioning is functioning but is not getting cold. The driver power mirror does not work in the down position. Very small tear in lower front cover just under bumper, see pictures. Extremely tiny ding in left quarter panel- barely noticeable. These are the only flaws we could find on this 944 S, as always there could be other issues that we are not aware of. This vehicle does not have a factory warranty and is sold as is. Any required maintenance is the responsibility of the buyer. There will be a $250 document fee which includes a 45 day temporary tag and Ohio title fees.
