1992 Ford Mustang GT - Project Car I bought this car a couple of months ago from a childhood friend. The car was in very poor shape. It had been sitting for approximately a year. The 1st thing I did was took the seats/carpet/console/back hatch area carpet out & had it steamed cleaned. I then re-installed it all. It is in fair condition. the headliner is sagging a bit, the driver seat shows wear. the passenger & rear are in good condition for the age. The 2nd thing I did was pull the transmission & have it rebuilt by a local transmission shop that specializes in rebuilding manual t5 transmissions the transmission was fully rebuilt, a new flywheel was installed a new Valeo King Cobra clutch a new aluminum quadrant a firewall adjuster energy suspension crossmember bushings a new 19 tooth speedo gear a new off road h-pipe I bought from Latemodel Restoration supply The car already had ford motorsport shorty headers & a flowmaster catback on it. I also bought 2 new cobra replica wheels (17x8.5) The oem 93 cobra front wheels were repainted locally by a body shop (17x7.5) I bought 4 new federal tires from tires plus 275 40 17 in the rears 245 45 17 fronts I also replaced all 4 door hinge pins & busings I also purchased 2 new hatch struts for rear hatch The engine is believed to have around 197k miles, The title shows exempt due to the mileage. The odometer shows 97k A cobra intake has been added, 24lb fuel injectors, & a c&l mass air flow sensor (the car runs & drives - it runs a little rich due to the maf & sometimes idles low) I have replaced the spark plugs & changed the oil. I drive it 1 or 2 times a week. it runs strong there is a few leaks - not exactly sure where they are coming from - with the age & mileage it's hard to tell. the underside of the car has oil buildup from years of not being degreased. The ac blows cold the car does not have emissions - no catalytic converters, smog pump has been removed - so therefore it will not pass emissions in some states the car has the full Cervini auto designs 1993 Cobra ground effects kit. (which includes-side skirts, fender extensions, rear bumper cover, grille insert, wing) the car has been repainted one time, obviously the paint is shot & will need to be repainted again. The body is fairly straight, it has been a Florida Car it's whole life. no rust. the title is clean, it is titled & insured to me. the heater core is bypassed the passenger window will not roll down the door lock actuators are frozen - passenger door will not lock trim is missing around front & rear windows - front window has small crack the tachometer isn't accurate the speedometer bounces at low rpm & is not accurate throughout the sweep the temperature gauge doesn't appear to work The gas gauge does work the oil pressure gauge works the alternator gauge works alpine cd player - infinity mids & highs - polk audio 6x9's - 1 mtx amplifier the door panels are in poor condition - along w/armrests I was slowly making repairs as money & time permitted. however I have lost interest, this car will need to go to an enthusiast who will restore the car to it's former glory. I have spent approximately 2700 dollars on things listed above. with a paint job & some new trim - the car would be sweet. only suspension modifications have been the ford racing c springs & the camber plates. the struts are worn out & will need replacing. the caster camber plate is also bent from the strut. so they will likely need replacing. an alignment is needed after this other work is completed. The steering is very sensitive. if you barely touch the wheel the car will respond very quick - needs some work The brakes are touch also If you are looking for a cream puff - this car isn't for you. If you are looking for a project & understand this is a 20 plus year old foxbody with a multitude of needs. then feel free to come take a look in person before bidding.
