My Father purchased this Lincoln Continental Mark V new in June of 1978. Since that time, it has been garaged inside with regular oil changes and maintenance. In short, this 'gem' of a car was his pride and joy until his passing last year at age 95. This is a smoke-free car!! I now have the clear title to the vehicle. The 400 C. I. engine is in excellent condition, with no oil leaks or smoke. I had the seal around the water pump repaired this past year, and while they did that that put in a new timing chain and added new belts. The automatic transmission provides a smooth, quiet ride. The interior is in excellent shape with all the power controls in good working order. The car still has the original vinyl top in good condition and the original paint only has some surface rust around the front side markers and just below the doors, but overall very good condition with the chrome still very good and rust-free. The comfortable ride is also enhanced by P235-70 whitewall radials with just 12,000 miles on them.What needs done? The air conditioning has not been converted, the surface rust in the lower panels on the sides would need touch-up (below the side moulding and easy to match), the power antennae has recently stopped working (might be jammed?), the windshield is cracked in the lower passenger-side corner (below the hood deck line).Inspections are welcome.
