Vehicle Detail

this auction presents a very rare, very nice, and all original equiped, 1969 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible, a true classic car. Accurate odometer reading of 38,794 miles. This Corvair has a clear Michigan title, and to the best of my knowledge has had just two owners. The present and longest, is my father. First in Florida and then over the past 40 years, living in North Carolina and more recently, in Michigan. It has spent the last forty years out of bad weather, always stored in a garage, and most always under a car cover. This car cover is also included in the auction. The drive train is the stock and original 6 cylinder engine, rated at 95 hp, with an automatic transmission. This car has always started, and continues to run great. the interior is all original and in very good condition, with only one small separation of material about three inches, on the drivers seat area. All carpeting, mats, dash board, interior trim and other upholstery, are in great condition. All dash gauges work as they should with the exception that the clock and the gas gauge are not properly functioning. All lights, turn indicators, floor dimmer switch, wipers, heater, and radio are all completely functional. The white convertible top, rear window, and body colored convertible top snap down cover are all original and in good condition. Only a couple of the cover snaps don't hold. The convertible top motors run without a flaw in the raising ans lowering of the top. The windshield, front and back side windows, and side vent windows, are original and in good shape. The drivers side front window requires slight assistance when first initiating the upward cranking, then works well to completion. the antenna, bumpers, and exterior body chrome trim are all in good condition with very minimal pitting. The "lime" green body paint is original, and has some small chips along the leading edge of the hood and some small spots along the side panels. There are three small areas that show some rust. These are at the base of the antenna, the bottom edge of one of the front quarter panels, and a small spot in one of the door panels. The under body and framework all appear to be both solid and without any rust damage noted. All of the floor panels are very sound and solid. The tires are all in good shape, all of the original 26 inch diameter size, along with a brand new spare tire. the wheels are in good condition and covered with the original Chevrolet chrome spoked wheel covers, which are in excellent condition. The trunk and the engine compartment are clean and rust free. This year and model of the Corvair is getting hard to find. The condition of this car makes it ideal to either be transformed into a show quality classic, or to be used as a daily drive. Please look through the pictures and email me with any questions. Since this is a local pick up only sale, the time and exact location could be negotiated. Transfer of car and title completed after payment with cash or Certified Cashiers check is verified. Thank you for looking.
