Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevelle SS 396 (this is the real deal) When a car this Rare and import come up for sale, there is no better seller to buy it from then some one like us with history and feedback on EBay like ours. BID AND BUY WITH CONFIDENCE !! Brief History on this car: car has had only 2 previous owners the last owner has had it since 1978 till 2015. The car has been here in Az its whole life. When he got the car it was still wearing its original Cortez Silver paint and black vinyl top. What youll see in the pics below is whats left of the red interior from 1969. I believe he said that 788 Red interior was a Special Order color. Back in the 80s the car had a few fender benders up front so seeing as sheetmetal was pretty abundant back in the day, the doghouse did get swapped out once. The LF fender was actually off another true SS car. The vinyl top was removed back in the 80s too preventing any possibility of rust on the roof. Also, the taillights where swapped out for some nicer ones (at the time). The Original SS taillights come with the car in the trunk. The last owner also did find 1 build sheet in the car but has since lost it (which If he ever finds, he promises to contact me) There may be more build sheets still in the car. This car has obviously never been restored and still wearing most of its original small parts. By that I mean: 3/8" metal fuel line, rear supports aka bracing, SS hood (not on car at the moment) but will come with the car (Possibly bolted on, not sure yet) It has minor damage up front (see pics) date coded SS rims and more. The original 12 bolt rearend houses 3:55 gears and the Muncie 4 spd IS a matching #s transmission, yes. Sadly, the original 396 was removed back in the 80s and put in a truck headed to Mexico. Another 396 was found and built for street racing in the late 80s. The car was barely driven since the early 90s and life went on for the owner. Only driving it once in a while only putting aprox 20k miles on the motor and car itself in the last 25 yrs. Trans shifts great , clutch feels good, rearend works like it should. Brakes work, but for some reason the power part of the brakes doesnt seem to be working well. Not sure if its because of size of the cam and lack of vacuum, or possibly a bad booster. I still drive it around, just give yourself ample room to slow down. It will roast the old 14" tires like you would expect from a built big block Chevy. DRIVETRAIN: Original motor gone, but current big block rocks the house. The Muncie in there is a Matching #s VIN stamped original 4 spd. Clutch feels good and original 12 bolt doing its job. The motor in it now, slightly built with a decent size cam (you can easily hear it) with bolt ons like headers, aluminum single plane intake and currently a 600 cfm Holley. Brakes stop the car, but will need some attention soon to make it just a fun driver. I hop in it to drive around the block or up to the store, it fires up everytime and will get your adrenaline pumping. Chances are, this car will go thru a full restoration and all that will be fixed correctly. INTERIOR: check out the pics, Az has been very hard on the interior and its pretty beat up. Intact are the original bucket seats, center console, 4 spd shifter with a Muncie stamped handle, factory dash clock and tach and all the original 396 SS badges from 69. The previous owner did find a rear window defogger off a parts car back in the 80s and he did install that himself. Cool option, but it was added many moons ago. Expect pretty much a full interior restoration in its future. All the AC stuff on the dash still there making putting the AC back in the car, much easier. Its a great factory and rare Option on an SS car. I think the 788 color interior was a special order item too. Once restored, this is probably the best color combination for any Muscle car on the road. Trunk is in amazing shape, rust free as well. Missing is the original jack and spare. All 4 floorboards are rust free and solid as you can find. EXTERIOR: from the door back, all original sheetmetal and about as rust free as you could get for a car this old. All the glass is good too. It has a few small dents on the body, the original Cortez Silver may also have been a Special order color, not sure. But under the primer youll find the original paint. The original silver you can still see in the door jambs and trunk lid. The original SS trim piece on the trunk lid still there, and the car comes with the original matching taillights. Chrome in just okay on the bumpers. Bottoms of both front fenders did get the typical rust spots after 25 yrs. About the only place I can see needing patches. this car really IS that rust free thanks to the AZ desert. SUSPENSION: pretty much all stock and original, and probably needs a decent amt of restoration like new bushings etc. I drive it down the road and it feels okay for as old as it is, and the tires are pretty aged. But it really does feel better then I expected. PS works great, and the brake booster will need to be replaced (or whatevers making it so hard to stop) if you want to just leave it as is a un restored, sleeper / survivor car. Which is cool too. Should come apart fairly easy too if you decide to restored it because of the lack of east coast style rust. Please check out our FEEDBACK its there for a reason and to help the buyer make an educated decision on who they trust to buy from long distance.. Also our pics are probably more detailed then anyone one else selling a GM on ebay. We go all over and under the vehicle, and even take off wheels to get the best pics. Its a shame everyone doesnt market their vehicles as detailed as we do. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are Over 150 large pics. There you have it, probably The BEST represented Chevelles on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end, instead of buying a so called restored car and finding out later on.. it was done wrong. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. OLD style ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND ready to go CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Car runs and drives well enough too to get onto a hauler. Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises and our Feedback speaks for itself ! EMAIL US WITH ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE !! Car will obviously ship as an INOP. IF you need a shipping quote, just email us with your city/state and Ill find out our best quote for you !! If there is a winner, please email me when the auction ends and say Hi and we can take it from there.
