Vehicle Detail

Up for auction here is my beloved 1987 Toyota MR2. It has been a gently driven commuter vehicle during the 4 years of my tenure as owner. Get vintage and exotic mid-engined thrills in a car that will spend more time on the road than in the shop! All this while achieving 35 MPG highway on regular gas (Summer months only). The car is completely stock except for the radio, front speakers, exhaust tip, and a K&N air intake (the original airbox and filter parts will be included). T-tops are about as leak free as I can get them; the driver's side T-top has a layer of permatex synthetic rubber on it. Rust isn't too bad, but there are a few spots (all rust is pictured). I have kept a complete service history since I've owned the car. Below are some highlights. MAJOR MECHANICAL WORK: *Wiper motor replacement 8/26/2011 *Alternator replacement 1/26/2012 *Battery replacement 03/07/2012 *Coolant flush 07/13/2012 *Clutch master cylinder replacement 02/22/2013 *Brake calipers and hoses replaced on all 4 wheels 03/07/2013 *Coolant flush 07/08/2013 *New set of tires 10/14/2013 *Wheel alignment 10/18/2013 *Both headlights replaced 2/11/2014 *Battery and spark plug replacement 07/07/2015 *Oil changed every 3000 miles (Pennzoil High Millage 10w-30) MAJOR BODY WORK: *Front spoiler/lip painted and attached *Passenger door shell painted and replaced Car runs and drives great. But at almost 30 years old, it has its fair share of quirks and issues. NOT WORKING: *Parking brake (doesn't really hold on any sort of incline) *Cruise control *Interior light *Oil pressure gauge *Stock sub-woofer NOT PERFECT: *Paint is pretty tired, especially on front hood and engine hood. Finish on the wheels is going bad. *Oil consumption is moderate. Both from burn at start-up and sporadic leaks. *A/C isn't very cold. Though, I never use the A/C thus I can't give too detailed a report. *Car runs very cold in below freezing temperatures, it can take a while for the heat to kick in in those conditions. *Something rattles in the rear passenger side speaker housing. Accessing this is very difficult which is why I haven't fixed it myself. *Driver's side headlight "eyebrow" trim missing. They can still be had from twosrus.com *Has the common split in the dash above the clock. *The interior T-top liner inserts are sagging/warped with age so they don't totally block the sun and can fall out more easily. That's it for the listing. I'll probably edit in some things I forgot, more pictures, ect... Good luck to all the bidders! Give her a great new home! *NOTE* Car will be driven occasionally during auction and until it has been picked up by the winner. The end mileage will be slightly higher than initial listing. This auction includes all of the following: A 1987 Toyota MR2, its original owner's manual, a repair manual, a semi-fitted breathable weather cover, original T-top bags with an additional set of T-tops, salvaged tail light assembly set (really not in that much better shape than what's on there), 4+ year service history, original front speakers, additional rear view mirror, 3/4 of a tube of synthetic rubber, various bulbs and plastic bits, a 2 piece folding sun visor (slightly stained), and 1 cup holder that doesn't really fit anywhere. *PAYPAL BUYERS ONLY* *BUYER COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP/TRANSPORTING THIS VEHICLE* *CAR IS SOLD AS IS. NO RETURNS. NO REFUNDS. NO EXCEPTIONS.* On Jul-19-15 at 14:33:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for auction here is my beloved 1987 Toyota MR2.
