Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1955 Chevy 4dr.sedan. This car is 99% complete, only missing seats, and a couple of odds and ends. This was a running daily driver up until 2005, when the owner took it apart to restore it. The car was taken apart, stripped down to bare metal, bought some parts, and left in the garage. It never went any further than that.I bought this car with the intention of building a black and white 50's style squad car. I have several restored 2dr. sedans, but when I saw the condition of this car I could not pass it up. But the reality of the story is, a year later, I haven't done anything to it, and probably won't get to it anytime soon. This car is as straight and solid as they come. Being down to metal you can see the trouble spots. The only rust through, is in some of the floor pans, and the tail pan of the trunk. All the pans needed are included in the sale, as well as the new tail pan, brace, and last 10 inches of the trunk. The rest of the trunk, trunk lid, shock mounts, doors, fenders, quarters, and rockers are solid. All floor braces are solid!! Glass is all good. One rocker has some small holes, as seen in the picture, but can be patched up very easily. None of the rockers need replacement. look at the pics, they speak for themselves. If you are handy with a welder, you can button this car up in a weekend. This car also has a California, one piece frame, in excellent condition. All in all, if your looking for a 55 to restore, or a donor car for another project, it won't get any easier or better than this one. I have worked on these cars for 30+ years, and know them inside and out. Feel free to ask any questions. This car is currently in upstate NY, but I can transport it down to Staten Island if the winning bidder would like to pick it up there. Email to discuss this. Many more pictures available, contact me for needs. On Jul-13-15 at 13:29:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have gotten a half a dozen or so questions that about the car, that apparently I did not address in the listing. Here we go: Yes the tires and rims are included. Smoothie rims are in very nice shape, a bit of rust on the lips, but overall real nice, tires are like new. The car is a stick on the column, someone cut out the floor hump????, for what ever reason, I am including a good used one. The last 10 inches of the trunk have already been removed, nice and clean, and ready to install the new one. Spare tire well and shock mounts are perfect. Original door panels, grab handles, and headliner are included, good for trim parts, they really are not usable. Headliner has the bows. Just about every nut and bolt is included, in either labeled containers, or the big tub of parts. Radiator, bumpers, brackets, bumper jack, are included. Radiator support is uncut. Nose is bolted to car for transport. The car is missing one lower front fender extension. Interior and exterior trim are included, front and rear windshield seals are long gone. That should cover it, but I'm sure there will be more questions. Feel free to ask.
