Up for sale is a 1998 Ford Contour SVT. The frame has roughly 235,000 on it. The engine has roughly 100,000 miles on it and the transmission has 90,000. The engine is not a 2.5, it is a 3.0 out of a 04 Ford Taurus. SVT enthusiast liked converting these cars from the 2.5 to the 3.0 liter and that what was done on this car. It currently does not run. This would make an excellent part car or can be fixed. In my opinion, it can be only one of two things, either the back engine wiring harness (which I know has brittle wire casing) needs to be replaced or it is the computer itself. It has no spark, replaced cam and crankshaft positioning sensors, ignition module and replaced front wiring harness a couple years ago. A common issue with these types of cars were the wiring harness and I had issues before and found that it was the front engine wiring harness, thinking back, I wished I would have replaced both front and back. So when this issue occurred about a year ago, I needed a car so I bought a newer one and have let this one sit and would rather try to get a little more than scrap metal.
