Vehicle Detail

1962 MG Midget WE GOTTA SELL IT and make room for more cars SO The new RESERVE is LOOOOOOWWWWW WANNA Buy it Now ? sure, make me a fair offer and Ill stop the auction early ! Up for Auction: awesome very rare cool 1962 MG Midget (runs and drives) needs lots of work still ABOUT THE TITLE: the previous owner was going to part the car out so in the process so he didnt have to register it anymore he got whats called a DISMANTLE brand on the Az title. This can be reversed what Im told in any state after the car goes thru a Level 1,2 or 3 inspection. To pass safety inspection it will need a good windshield, working lights etc and all the normal stuff if you plan on putting it back on the street. If you make it a race car, you just build it the way it is. These cars rarely come up for sale anymore as survivors that are affordable and restorable. So DONT MISS IT !! Some brief history about the car when we got it is it was parked and stored outside here in Tucson where it sat for about 15 yrs and pretty much forgotten about. Seeing as this car has been in Tucson for as far as we can track it Az sun and the desert heat has done alot of wear and tear on the old beast. Originally the car was white. Over the yrs water sat in the floor causing the front 2 floors to rust and some other areas under the car. The car also got some minor rust forward of both front doors on the body. (See pics, there are plenty below) The front floors where fixed but nothing professionally, but just to get by for a daily driver. If you hop in the car, turn the key and pull the ignition switch it fires right up. Runs a little rough and sounds loud due to an old exhaust and missing gasket. It runs well enough to buzz it around our parking lot and load it on a trailer. The clutch works fine and has a rebuilt slave cylinder and the brake master was also rebuilt recently. No smoke or knocking from the engine. All the forward and reverse gears work too. Doesnt like to idle that well but once you are on the gas some, it scoots and responds pretty well. Im sure the motor will need a tune up and maybe the carbs rebuilt too soon. Convertible top and frame are missing. Doors open and close like normal. Also, make sure you check out our Feedback here on Ebay Its there for a reason and tells potential bidders/buyers they can rest assure if they buy one of our cars, things will go smooth and well. To date, Ive yet to see anyone else market their cars the way we do and our prices we try to be realistic as well. We want to sell cars, not sit on them for months. DRIVETRAIN: the motor (prob original) starts easily with the original keys, runs and sounds good. 1100 cc twin carbs. Under the hood is very original, and un-molested. Could use a good cleaning and probably a tune up. Some mild surface rust in a few areas, but no signs of any body damage here too. Clutch and trans feel okay. Needs restoration in a few areas but the car looks like its never been wrecked and the frame rails in the engine bay look rust free and original. Original air cleaners are in the trunk. So is the original gas tank. Right now its running off the original mechanical fuel pump, but the tank in the trunk is just a temp. INTERIOR: lots of sun damage here and needs alot of resto here too, but still easier and cheaper then fixing rust on an eastcoast car for weeks. Bucket seats are not original as you can see. Rest of the dash etc looks original even the steering wheel (missing all the wood) Windshield frame in decent shape but it folds forward if you push on it. Not sure exactly how to anchor it. Original Tach and Speedo. Rockers are very solid and doors work well. Also I saw little to NO rust behind the front seats or in the trunk well too. (see pics !) EXTERIOR: the body is actually pretty dent free from front to rear and only see rust behind both front tires in pretty small sections. Ive got pics of under the car too, so hopefully you can see what the cars going to need for a proper resto. Grill looks good, tires in good shape too. We DO have the front bumper but it really needs to be fixed or just buy a new one. Lights not working but I did find a few broken wires in the engine bay pass side that could be the problem. This isnt the most rust free car we have sold over the yrs, it obviously has some rust issues, but still nicer then most un restored MGs out there. This is an AZ MG, and it got some rust, I cant imagine what one of these cars looks like thats been on the eastcoast for the past 40+ yrs. SUSPENSION: all factory the best I can tell. Im sure some bushings and stuff will be worn or close to worn out. Shocks actually not too bad. I actually drove this car on some back roads before I bought it for about 20 minutes. Had it up to about 50 and it felt like a little go kart. This car has factory Front Disc Brakes too !! No wire wheels to worry about not being true, the steelies with caps are original and tires are good too, not that old. While driving so far, on short test rides nothing really stands out other then its an old non restored car. Plan on some restoration here too. Do as little or as much as you want during the resto. Check out ALL the pics below -----> (there are over 125 pix!) it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you have it, probably The BEST represented BRITISH car on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. We put these large detailed Pics up so YOU and WE can see more about the cars condition. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !! Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. We show you as much feasibly possible via pics. Doing restoration on this type of project is less labor intensive which means overall cost is less too ! With less horrid surprises later on. Dont let auctions with little to no pics try to fool you. With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER with great pics to help making your decision easier. Along with ANY other questions you may have. Email me for a quote for shipping. ARIZONA TITLE IN HAND Keep in mind, this is not a restored car !! CAR MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 14 days of auctions END ! we can no longer store cars for anyone !! Unless other arrangements have been made before auction ends. Can help with shipping outside the USA too if you need help. But keep in mind, the car cant ship until you get your title from us in hand. This car, you can see clearly what to expect with no surprises and our Feedback speaks for itself !
