Vehicle Detail
0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false Trunk is in perfect condition, not a speck of surface rust to be found. Still wearing its factory paint, and woven trunk mat. Mechanical: The original L-head 6 and 3 speed manual transmission run flawlessly. I have no supporting evidence, but it is almost certain the engine was rebuilt at some point in its life. It fires to life and runs like a perfect little sewing machine…just thrumming along. Perfect oil pressure, never overheats and keeps its temp just right regardless of driving conditions. (my mechanic echoes my same feelings that it has had to be rebuilt) Odometer reads 33600, which according to brake pedal wear must be 133k, but you would never know if from the way she drives. 3 Speed on the column shift works just as it should. Syncromesh in gears 2 and 3 just as designed. She’s very comfortable cruising down the fwy at 55-60mph, but I don’t drive her any faster than that. There’s just no reason to be in a hurry in a car like this! Brakes work just fine. Recent work includes new fluid change, rebuilt master cylinder and all new shoes/hardware and cylinders for the front brakes. Rears are still serviceable and in good shape. Parking brake woks as it should.Additional recent work includes tune up, original carb rebuilt, and new rubber fuel lines. Tires are older bias ply white walls. Age unknown, but still in decent shape. I may not consider driving it cross country with them, but I’ve made several trips of 100+ miles with no issues. Overall this is a rock solid driver of a classic car. 65+ years old and drives like she was only a few years old at most. No need for premium gas with the low compression L-Head, and get 20+ mpg in return as well! I’m reluctant to sell her, she’s such a treat. But like others, I have too many cars and not enough days to drive them all enough. Reserve is very reasonable and indeed a bargain when compared to some other Plymouths of this era recently. Just a sweet honest sedan with tons of character and personality. Many more detailed photos available upon request, just ask. Available for inspection in the SF Bay Area with advance notice. I’m happy to assist with any shipping needs, but arrangements are all the responsibility of buyer. On Jun-21-15 at 20:24:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Always things I forget to add! All gauges work perfectly. All lights, and interior panel lights work well.Blinkers are sometimes intermittent.Flip up summer ventilation works great. Radio is not working.Heater is bypassed and in unknown condition.
