1976 Oldsmobile 442. Purchased from original owner, garage kept for it's entire life. 43272 original miles. All stock time capsule. Beautiful and rare Mahogany Metallic paint over Silver Metallic lower. Immaculate Burgundy interior, completely unmolested. 350 4bbl with Auto trans. First time offered nationally. History: Purchased 3/19/76 at Ahrens Cadillac Oldsmobile in Madison WI. Original owner had the vehicle Ziebarted for extra protection but in his 39 years of ownership it was garaged. Documentation: Full documentation including original purchase paperwork, full Ziebart paperwork, all licensing and registration documents, all maintenance invoices which include mileage to verify the low miles. All manuals and flyers from glovebox. Options: Not heavily optioned, rare items include Space saver spare tire w/ inflation canister and lack of pass. side mirror. Includes original AM/FM radio w/original speakers, tilt wheel, seat belt warning light on dash. Everything works. Condition: Wonderful survivor. Original paint shines beautifully, bumpers and all trim in excellent condition. Interior is amazing, all stock and in outstanding condition. Headliner and rear parcel shelf showroom fresh. Dash and instrument panel clean with no fading or cracks. All glass perfect. Everything on vehicle works correctly. All lights interior and exterior work, even light in center console w/ the original bulb! Rides down the road beautifully, smooth and rattle-free. Brakes are strong and it tracks straight. She's a real cruiser, with a 22 gal. tank and a 2.41 gear ratio, we drove it over an hour and a half home and gas gauge barely moved! Air conditioning blows nice and cold w/ original refrigerant! Engine fires right up, smooth and torquey. No odd noises of any kind. Engine compartment bone stock with assembly line markings still clearly visible. Trunk is spectacular, showroom fresh. All four rims and trim rings are excellent. Vehicle has brand new battery, oil and filter change and coolant flush. And a full tank of gas! Oh yeah those are the original rear tires! Needs: In the seventies the hood was heavily scratched by something falling off a truck. It was repainted and hasn't stood the test of time. It is all straight and fine just is faded and checked. It will also need to be adjusted for perfect fit. Likewise the roof and trunklid are lightly faded and have some natural checking, nothing major at all. The vehicle does have a few door dings but a paintless dent guy can go in thru the existing Ziebart holes and easily pop them out. There are some scratches as well. The pass. side rear wheelwell trim has several dings but I think they repop them now. As far as the interior the driver's seat has a small tear in the lower vinyl. The driver's door pull strap is loose. As far as mechanicals I'm sure she'd love a full tune up, she fires right up and runs fine now, but plugs, wires and a timing check could only make her sweeter. Also I'd definitely put new tires on her, the rears are the originals and the fronts are old as well. Conclusion: If your into Colonnades, or 442s, or originality, whatever, this is truly an amazing oppurtunity. This beauty clicks all the boxes for the die hard collector. Don't let her get away!
