Vehicle Detail
Selling my very nice 1950 truck. It is 90% stock and only driven occasionally on weekends. I have a very reasonable reserve on this truck. Stock drive-train, with a strong running "big six" motor, smooth shifting 3-speed transmission/overdrive and good brakes. Runs great! The overdrive transmission is very desirable in that it allows good cruising speeds. The truck has been converted to 12-volts with alternator, and everything works properly. Frame is solid. Exhaust system is solid. There are a couple of fluid leaks, normal for old Studebakers! It has the original 16" wheels with Goodyear radials. The body is in good shape: the paint is far from show quality with a couple of thin spots and some orange peel, but overall in very presentable condition. The passenger side floorboard had a couple of holes in it when I got the truck, so that was replaced (welded) with new. The rockers do need replaced but there is no structural concern; I do have a new one for the drivers side, never got around to welding it in. The bed was also rusty with a couple of places rusted through, but not bad enough to discard, so I POR'd the bed and installed bright, new diamond plate aluminum. Also, the "Studebaker" script on the hood is missing. (New stuff is available). The following repairs/upgrades have been done to the truck: Sound deadening/insulation installed on the floor and firewall, all new glass and rubber including two-piece windshield, correct new rubber carpet, new motor mounts, new water pump, new rear brakes, rebuilt fuel pump (there is also an electric pump but I have it disconnected); rebuilt carb, new front spring bushings, insulation on the underside of hood; new tie rods ends, new gas filler hose, new aluminum radiator and hoses, new tailgate chains and rubber; new chrome hood ornament, new outside mirrors, and reupholstered bench seat. I also installed a new headliner with a splash of color! I also added small LED lights above the foot wells that light when the doors are open. This truck draws a lot of attention whenever I take it out. I will be happy to assist with shipping. Although the rockers are bad, I have painted those areas to stop the rust.On Jun-12-15 at 11:03:16 PDT, seller added the following information: *I have added additional pictures.
