Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1946 Studebaker Skyway Champion Sedan. It is equipped with the 170 cubic inch Champion engine and overdrive. It is being offered with NO RESERVE. Mechanical: The Champion runs and holds good oil pressure (40lbs) at start up. The brakes do not function, nor does the handbrake. The car is equipped with overdrive, but its operation is unknown. Battery box rusty, wiring is questionable. Tires are quite old, but do hold air. Exterior: The car has an older repaint and the paint quality is fair to good. There is some evidence of paint cracking, perhaps filler giving way in the rear fenders (see pictures). There is evidence of rust underneath the rear fender gravel deflectors and at the lower corners of the front fenders Chrome is in very good condition - bumpers may have been rechromed at some point. Grille brightwork, wheelcovers and trim rings are in excellent shape. Windshield has two large starbursts and other minor blemishes. Interior: Interior has been redone in non-authentic materials. Headliner is in excellent condition. Door panels are only fair (see pictures). Steering wheel is in poor condition, but instrument panel is overall in good shape. Kick panels are in poor shape (see pictures). Structural: Frame and undercarriage have surface rust but the car appears quite solid. There is some rust scale in trunk corners. Door bottoms are solid. General: NO RESERVE! Vehicle is sold as is, where is, with no warranty of any kind. Will sell to US buyers only. Email with questions or for additional pictures or call Andy (574) 532-8352 or Drew (574) 339-2766. Car can be inspected in person with appointment. Title is clear and in hand and will be accompanied by bill of sale. Proceeds from sale benefit the Studebaker National Museum. We do not use PayPal - SNM will process payment. Cash, certified funds, Visa, MC, AMEX DV accepted. Total due within three days of conclusion of auction. Vehicle must be picked up within ten days of conclusion of auction.
