Vehicle Detail
Hello, For sale is my 1990 BMW 750iL V12. I've had it for going on 5 months and I'd like to put some time and money back into my E34, time to let the E32 go. I bought this car from the original owner's daughter. I was told by the daughter that her father purchased the car brand new in 1989 to treat himself after a good financial year, and always had it serviced at the local BMW dealer (I have the original window sticker!). Car is VERY clean, NO BODY RUST. All door bottoms, fender bottoms etc. are clean, solid and rust free. The only rust there is is on the shields protecting the exhaust, the exhaust pipes them selves are solid! Does have some small dings on the hood, roof and rear door and paint chips on the front clip from weather, and clusters of chipping at some bottom edges. I tried my best to take pictures of the defects. (It's 25 years old, after all and I do have touch-up paint). Title is clean and in my name, 134,879 miles as it sits. Myriad new parts, will try to upload an image of thelist, I have many of the receipts. Many new genuine BMW parts. Just did a full paint buff and polish, paint is super clean and clear, a mirror reflection! The car presents amazingly. All body panels are original with the VIN stickers on them. The single-stage BMW Schwarz paint appears to be original. I did a full polish and buff, will try to include some before and after pictures. The paint was very swirled and had some scratches, and I was able to take the majority out with a Dual Action polisher and numerous products. (Apologies if you see any wax residue on the car still). The engine and transmission both operate just how they should. The M70 V12 runs like a top and pulls all the way through the powerband. Never witnessed any oil burning or significant leaks. Transmission shifts well and as it should. Known issues:-Headliner is sagging above the rear seats. -Could use a set of tires; car sat on the wheels and tires that are on it now for a while prior to my purchase. They might have small flat spots causing a very slight shimmy at highway speeds and when braking hard, however they are Continental EcoPlus and have excellent tread and no dry rot. I had my E34 wheels and snow tires on it up until a week ago and it rode perfectly smooth with them. -In the blow-freezing temps of winter, the driver's rear hydraulic shock did leak a very small amount of fluid onto the garage floor. Leak stopped as soon as temps were above freezing. It's the O-ring that seals the strut tube into the shock base. I have a diagram of the system. -Sometimes when decelerating at highway speeds, at 2,000RPM the CEL will flash intermittently, the code is 2215 for the passenger side MAF. I have two replacement MAFs, both known to be good working units just haven't installed one. -Fuel level gauge gets wonky below half a tank. -Power steering lines are wet as is the trans pan, however no puddles on the garage floor.-Body has dings and paint chips New parts prior to my ownership: -Radiator -Water pump-Power steering pump-Driveshaft and center support bearing -Full ignition and filter tune up New parts during my ownership:-Rear exhaust donuts-Rear exhaust hangers-Touch-up paint-*Performance Chip set-Trunk shocks-Door handle gaskets-Front brake hoses-Rear brake hoses-Front brake rotors-Driveshaft CV gasket-DOT4 brake fluid-Rear bumper shocks-Driver's taillight assembly -MAF sensors *Only "mod" I did was install performance computer chips. The tune was written by a forum supporter and is very trustworthy. Increased fuel economy and performance. I always used 93 Octane gas but regular will run fine. I average 16mpg through town and 23mpg on the highway (confirmed at the pump!) The car is in overall excellent shape, no seat rips or ugly interior wear or dash cracks. Fires on all 12 and has tons of power and is a really nice car to drive. I have the original window sticker, car was optioned with the desible 3.15 Limited Slip Differential and rear Ski-bag as well as heated rear seats. All heated seats, electric seats/ headrests, windows, electronics work. Has original car phone! Traction control works too. I have put approximately 5,000 miles on it from my work commute and small trips to Boston, NH etc. Car has never let me down or left me stranded. Starts right up always. Feel free to send me an email with any questions, I will provide any information I can and answer asap. If you prefer to talk on the phone you may email and ask for my number. I kept this car as clean as possible as well as original. Want it to go to a good home! Good luck and bid confidently. Thanks!Leo___________________________ I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the vehicle is for sale locally. ______________________________ Pictures and videos (Sorry for the bad license plate cuts, forgot to take them off prior to taking the pictures) Video of running walkaround: https://youtu.be/VT6hzjAre3Q Video of short drive: https://youtu.be/9TLYZFjCIOY
