This auction is for my 1990 Mazda Miata Convertible. This is quite simply the best car I have ever owned, period. It is the best value, best handling, best mileage, most reliable and fun vehicle in my 38 years of driving. I am this Miata's 3rd owner. The first owner purchased it new and traded it in in San Diego in 1993 with about 30K on it. The second owner bought it and moved to Iowa and owned it 20 years until 2013. He is a retired engineering professor at Iowa State and it was his "fun car" driven in the summer and garaged in the winter which I have continued. It is in amazing condition for it's 25 years and has had less than 3000 miles a year put on it for the past 20 years. I am selling it to raise funds for a new car for my daughter who is heading off to college. It has had a lot of preventive maintenance and I will list all that I know of. I have most of the receipts for the work done and parts replaced. The timing belt and cam cover gasket was done at 65K, it has a new clutch, new front brakes and a new front brake caliper, new plug wires this year, new oxygen sensor, new AGM battery a few months ago, new tires last year, new radio surround, CD stereo with aux input and Polk speakers 2 years ago, windblocker windscreen installed last year that provides quieter ride with the top down. It was completely repainted in 1994 and the convertible top replaced then due to damage from a presumed drunk college kid that keyed the car, cut the top and stole the stereo. The paint is still in good shape, the previous owner redid the lower rocker panel paint in 2012 with a "stone guard" finish. I have the original owners manual with all of the dates of the oil changes written in from 1994 to now. I have a seldom used mint condition convertible boot also. On May-12-15 at 18:43:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to my daughter's car being in the shop, I have had to drive the Miata to work this week so the mileage on pick-up will be around 100,350. In the interest of full disclosure, I also have noted that the emergency brake is sticking again, not an unusual thing for Miatas of this age. I had my mechanic lubricate it last summer when the new tires were installed and it has been working well but will need attention again to work perfectly. On May-16-15 at 06:03:11 PDT, seller added the following information: The car does have air conditioning, it was changed to R-143a 2 summers ago. I also have the original Miata logo floor mats that are worn as well as an extra set of new jute mats that are currently in the car.
