Vehicle Detail

I am listing my 1989 Corvette Coupe for sale. My Corvette has 48,538 original miles on the tuned port injection 350 with a 6 speed manual transmission. This is an outstanding example of a low mileage, excellent condition, nicely optioned Corvette Coupe with the removable targa top option. The story on this beautiful car is as follows: I am a car guy. I have a resto-modded 72 Camaro in my garage with a big block and a Tremec 5 speed trans that sees about 500-700 miles per year. My daily driver is a pick up truck. For the past 6-8 months I have been on the hunt for a 3rd car. I've been looking for something sporty to drive to work on nice days. I've been looking for something in the late 80's/early 90's with either T-tops or a convertible. A buddy of mine told me about his co-worker's uncle who was selling this Corvette. I went to look at the car and bought it immediately. When I got it home and cleaned it up I realized that this car is WAY too nice to sit outside all year and park at the parking lot at my job. It frankly deserves better than that. So I've decided to list it for sale. The car is a 1989 Corvette coupe. It has the removable targa top. It's in outstanding condition having been garage kept it's entire life. It's fully loaded with power steering, power brakes, cruise, tilt, A/C, power windows, and locks. It also has power driver and passenger seats. It has the tuned port 350 cubic inch engine which runs outstanding. The transmission is the new for 1989 6 speed ZF manual trans. The 6 speed option had it's debut in 1989 and only 4,113 of the 26,412 Corvette's produced saw the 6 speed transmission. This car was mechanic owned and has been meticulously maintained. It has all GM parts. The plugs and wires are A/C Delco, it even still has the GM serpentine belt. Again, it only has 48,538 original miles. It runs and drives like a new car. The paint and body are in outstanding condition. The paint shines fabulously and looks to be brand new. Obviously there is a minor road nick or two from being driven but otherwise this paint is fantastic. All the body panels line up nicely and the doors close perfectly. It's a completely solid car. The interior is in excellent condition. The car has the AQ9 option Leather Sport Seats. In 1989 only 1,777 Corvettes were optioned with these seats. They are power and have lumbar/support controls all over the place. Honestly, I still haven't even begun to understand all the control functions just for the seats. The rest of the interior is fantastic. The digital dash works flawlessly and all gauges read well. The door panels, dash pad, and carpet are all outstanding. The stereo is the Delco Bose system with a power antenna. Both work well. All the options work such as power windows, seats, and lumbar controls. Heat and A/C work but the A/C isn't exactly ice cold. A quick shot of freon should fix that. The drivetrain is SUPER solid and strong. This car pulls strong through all the gears. The transmission shifts smoothly through all 6 gears. It has outstanding oil pressure as well as running right in the perfect coolant range. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car to California tomorrow. It pulls out strong, tracks straight as an arrow, and stops on a dime. It needs NOTHING. Get in, turn the key and enjoy! The suspension is incredibly tight. This car turns on a dime. It tracks straight down the road. It has outstanding Goodyear Eagle F1 tires sized 275/40/17 which have barely any miles on them. They're practically brand new. It has 2 unique and rare suspension options. The first option is the FX3 Selective Ride and Handling Package. Only 1,573 Corvettes were ordered with this option in 1989. Basically there is a switch on the console that allows you to control how the car rides. It offers 3 different settings for cruise, performance, and sport driving. The second unique option for the suspension is the Z51 performance and handling package. Only 2,224 Corvettes came with this option in 1989. The question is how many Corvette's came equipped with both suspension options possibly making this a unique Corvette. This car in an outstanding time capsule. It has been garage kept and babied it's entire life. Over the past 8-10 years it hasn't even been driven 1000 miles. However, the previous owner was a mechanic and kept it well maintained and drove it occaisonally to keep the battery charged and the juices flowing. When I looked at the car 2 weeks ago, the battery took some coaxing to start the car so I installed a brand new battery. I've driven this car on loacl roads as well as the highway and it's a flawless car. It's simply just too nice to be a daily driver in the summer and then sit outside all winter while I drive my truck. Not to mention with some of the unique options and the rare 6 speed trans this car should go to someone who will keep it in a garage and baby it. I have taken 2 video's of the car that I will be posting shortly. I also have 2 good friends who have lifts in their garage and I am more than willing to put this car up for an inspection of to take and requested pictures. I even still have the original GM owner's manual as well as the orignal Corvette targa top removal tool with 2-3 extra GM targa top screws. I also have a ton of extra pictures so feel free to ask. This car needs nothing. It's an outstanding example of a well kept, well maintainted low mileage Corvette. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Please feel free to ask any additional questions.
