Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a single owner vehicle that is 16 years old and saw its first 7 years as a full-year daily driver, including NJ winters. This is NOT a show car, it's a good, fun, solid driver but it's got lots of scratches, chips, and a handful of minor mechanical issues. It's been in 3 accidents, two requiring the front bodywork be replaced and one requiring passenger side rear quarter panel replacement. None of them required frame straightening and one didn't involve another car. Backing out of a very badly graded driveway with a concrete apron resulted in the front bodywork being partially torn off the car. I have tried to take as many pictures as I can and will take pictures on request. Extras: Matching hardtop Set of steel rims and hubcaps (with snow tires mounted that I wouldn't recommend using) Aftermarket luggage rack Car Cover (small hole on driver's side by mirror, exactly where the chunk is missing from the mirror although they're unrelated) Significant issues include: Driver's side power window does not work - I have not spent any time diagnosing this issue. One day the driver's side window just stopped working. That's all I know. Alternator squeals at start - this is new for this year. For the past 9 years the car has been a summer only car. When starting it up this year the alternator squealed for about 45 seconds. It settled down and stopped. I didn't have long to check so I don't know if it's the alternator or the belt. It's since stopped doing it. Check Engine light on - either I got a bum O2 sensor or it's something else. The car has had the coil replaced (7 - 8 years ago), both O2 sensors (a couple of years ago), the exhaust system (including catalytic converter) (a couple of years ago) in pursuit of making this code go away. Nothing has fixed it permanently. I do not currently have the exact code. I am pretty sure it's a P0421 code for a front sensor. I haven't pulled the code in some time but I think it was P0421, it definitely was a front bank 02 sensor. Over the winter I had the battery out on a charger and I haven't driven it enough to trigger the code. I'll try to drive it over the next few days and update the listing with the exact code. Driver's speaker blown, possibly radio amp - this car came with a factory Bose system that uses really odd speakers that run at 1/2 ohm. The driver's side speaker went bad and I replaced both sides with a kit from Clearwater Audio (#CWC-8B). There was a problem with the box that does the ohm conversion on the drivers side. It cracked open and shorted. I have the replacement speaker but it doesn't work. Clearwater Audio thinks the amp in the radio may be blown. I haven't looked further. The passenger side speaker works. Chunk missing from Driver's side mirror (cosmetic issue only) - see the picture Holes in convertible top - (see pictures) the top is worn in exactly the places you'd expect, where the top meets the frame for the top. Power Antenna - The power antenna went bad a couple of years ago. Rather than replacing it with another power unit I purchased a fixed antenna for a '99 Miata. I still have the original and understand they can be rebuilt. On May-11-15 at 05:26:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: Forgot about two additional extra items: - Black Tonneau - original Miata Tonneau. I put it on the car once, when it was brand new, to make sure it fit. It's been sitting in a bag in the garage ever since. - Blue Boot Cover - original matching Miata Boot Cover. Same as Tonneau, it was on the car once, to make sure it fit. It's been sitting in a bag in the garage ever since. For those that are interested, it's car # 7413, as marked on the number plate on the side of the car.
