Vehicle Detail
This is my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L 6-cylinder 4WD that I'm selling with about 169.5k miles on it. This was my sole source of transportation when I was finishing up my doc the last few years & I took care of it, replaced most everything that needed replacing (alternator, battery, serpentine, full exhaust, etc) recently and have receipts proof for most of it (which I'll provide). It also has a CLEAN CARFAX. However, I just finished school and bought an Audi A5 so I'm selling this starting at $200 with No Reserve bc really I will be happy just to see this go to someone who will enjoy it and hope to make a few bucks from it to put towards my new car payments. As for NEW parts, it just had 2 tires installed/balanced in the rear (0 miles) and 2 in the front about 5k old (see pics), so that's about a $350 value there! The reason for the recent change in the back 2 was a flat, which is why they were replaced again and the front ones have 5k on them. Also, I haven't driven it since the oil was changed last week, so that's another $50 saved. I have the receipts ofc for you to see. **I also took it to Firestone the 1st week of May-2015 for a full diagnostics and there is nothing mechanically wrong with this car other than the easy to fix wheel bearing issue described below. As far as extras go, besides all of the replaced parts, it has a custom safari roof rack as pictured ($350 value), as well as a Kenwood CD player/radio with aftermarket speakers (I'm not sure what they are since they came with the car). The previous owner left them in from their stereo system, and the Jeep is actually wired already for an amp/subwoofer in the trunk (wires are run under the back seat) so if you plan on putting a sound system in here it's already set up :) !! Oh, and it also comes with a cargo net/installed hooks in the trunk, as well as key-less entry/alarm, and 2 sets of floor mats (Jeep brand after-market and OEM that came with it). I have them stacked for maximal protection, and it's kept the original carpet FLAWLESS!! ****As for what needs to be replaced, as with any private sale I'm selling this car with no warranty, which isn't to say it's in bad shape at all, in fact I've taken great care of it overall with regular maintenance and repairs, I just want to be 100% honest here bc I don't believe in misrepresenting an item to customers (see my 100% positive seller profile on eBay!), in my opinion it only leads to more stress down the road even if you get a few extra $ on the sale. First off, the front left speaker has a loose connection (either in the door panel or behind the CD player) and I really don't care fix it bc honestly it's embarrassing haha I don't know how to take the panels off. It's not broken, just a loose wire which you'd have to go in and re-connect bc for a while it would come off/on when you hit a bump but then it eventually fell off. The headliner is sagging a tiny bit in the back but it's barely even noticeable, just figured I'd mention that. The thing to replace that would cost the most though is the front right wheel bearing and u-joint (the u-joint is not necessary but recommended according to Firestone). The parts for this would be about $150 if you can do it yourself, or about $450 at a shop like Firestone bc of labor. You could still drive it home like this without issue, I've been driving it this way for the last 5k miles, the only issue is the annoying humming noise it makes right now over about 40mph, but I would recommend getting it fixed within the next 5-10k miles or so. The only other issue is the front sway bar link needs a replacing (if you want one), but a lot of people remove this anyway as it makes the Jeep better off-road/on sand and the "off-road" package comes with this removed already, so it's not really an issue per se. It just doesn't make any sense for me to take a whole 1-2 days off work to wait around getting all this stuff fixed, when I really don't have any expectations of getting a huge sum of money back for this car. Just want to be 100% honest though. Any questions about this at all please ask. Other than what I mentioned, the only issue is there are a few nicks/imperfections/scratches on the exterior (I pictured the only place it's bad, the rear bumper from loading in my bicycle and there are a few more in the left door jam on the plastic (invisible if door is closed and minor) but for a car from 1999 this is in amazing shape and has gotten me through some really tough NJ winters. There are no major dents or any issues with the body other than 1-2 small golf ball size dips that are only visible in high-light situations if you really look for them. Ideally this car would be a high-school or college kid's first car or for someone who wants to use it for hunting/beach imo, but it has been well maintained especially on the inside and could be a daily driver with proper maintenance. **I work and live in Central NJ (Princeton area) and would be more than happy to show this to anyone who is interested in seeing it and taking a ride around. I don't want to get negative btw, but if the auction is over and you are trying to haggle or make a deal I will re-list it w/o returning deposit, as I'm more interested in finding an honest, quality buyer than getting rid of it quickly, and I set these rules to past experiences with dishonest buyers looking to take advantage of eBay's format unfortunately. ANY questions at all feel free to ask, I will answer everything I can to the best of my abilities, but really your best option is to come see it if you can since I'm very busy during the week days and honestly. Thanks and good luck!! On May-18-15 at 11:19:13 PDT, seller added the following information: **I just wanted to add a quick addendum as I've been asked this a few times - YES, this Jeep's body & under-body/uni-body are rust-free. Upon an inspection, the only place I found rust was a couple of the bolts (which you could easily replace) on the after-market safari rack, which probably isn't even worth mentioning but that's all I found. On May-21-15 at 11:59:16 PDT, seller added the following information: one other extra thing, I accidentally clicked "cruise control" in the options, this doesn't have cruise control but I double checked and everything else is accurate, sorry for any confusion On May-23-15 at 19:03:50 PDT, seller added the following information: **another addition, I will NOT SHIP OR DELIVER this vehicle so please don't ask. Also, full payment is not allowed via PayPal unless we have worked something out in advance, but generally that is not allowed, only the small deposit will be sent through PayPal. I've had a couple local people come to see this today and they all loved it, and I'm more interested in an easy transaction than a few extra $, so if you're not able to pick it up I'm sorry. However, if you are out of state and would need a few extra days to arrange to come get it, that can absolutely be arranged. Just let me know!! Thanks!!
