Vehicle Detail
You are looking at my pride and joy. A 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300D Turbo Diesel. This car was supposed to be restored over the coming months, but unexpected bills have put me in an emergency situation needing to sell it. First $1,000 gets it. The Good: - Runs great. - Drives well. - NEW battery! - Was my daily driver until February when I bought a new car. I regularly drove hundreds of miles in a week with no problems. - Tires are still in pretty good shape. - 3/4 of the power windows work. - The power sunroof works. - 3/4 of the vacuum door locks work. - It does not nor has it ever (in my ownership) been run hot. - Interior is in better shape than most W123s its age. The Bad: - 1/4 of the vacuum door locks don't work (common for old Mercedes). - 1/4 of the power windows don't work (common for old Mercedes). - The vacuum cruise control doesn't work (common for old Mercedes). - The automated climate control doesn't work except for full heat defrost (common for old Mercedes). - The rear of the car sags a little (common for old Mercedes). - There is a bad transmission flare when shifting from 2-3 (common for old Mercedes). - It leaks oil (common for old Mercedes). - The neutral safety switch sometimes acts up, so I added a bypass switch in the glovebox. - No radio. - It's pretty cold-natured if the temperature is below 20*F. It usually has to be jumped off if it's below 15*F. - Dings, trim missing in places, dents, etc. Usual old car stuff. - Salvage title with "REBUILT" stamp, meaning the car was written off but re-certified for road use. - Brakes are VERY spongy - car IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, must be trailered. This car has surprised me to no end. I bought it as a restoration project, and my primary vehicle blew up, forcing me to drive this car daily for over a year without any major issues. It pains me terribly to sell it, but I need to take care of my family more than I need a project. I hope you love it as much as I do.
