I originally bought this car with the intention of parting it out, but it is too good a car to meet that fate. It is rusty, but very complete and restorable. When I got it home, I found that the original 389 engine was free, so with a new set of plugs, cleaning of the points, and an oil and filter change, it fired right up. It will sit and run as long as you want, and it doesn't smoke, except for a little upon first start. Believe it or not, it is running on the 2000 vintage gas in the tank! The transmission will go into both drive and reverse, but I haven't driven it at all due to no brakes. It can be driven up onto a trailer. The original upholstery on the back seat is very brittle and will need to be replaced, and the front seat was recovered (badly) at some point. The convertible top is gone, but the top frame is in very good condition, with very little surface rust, and no damage or missing parts that I can see. As you can see, the body, floor pans and trunk pan are rusty, but not as bad as most convertibles that have been sitting outside this long. I have not had the car on a lift, but from crawling under it I can see that the frame is rusty in spots, with some damage under the drivers door, but not broken in two. That's all the damage I could see, but again I could not give it a thorough inspection on the ground. All the glass is there and in very good condition, the passenger side door glass is off the track. The door panels also will need to be replaced. This car is in need of a total restoration, but it would be a good one to start with. It does have a clean title.
