1977 Chrysler New Yorker Up for Auction: 1977 Chrysler NEW YORKER Brougham SUPER (almost giving it away) Low RESERVE !! 1 owner since 77, older lady who loved the car, but cant drive it anymore wants to pass it on to another lover of large American luxury cars. :) This was Chryslers answer to compete with Lincoln and the Cadillac luxury cars on the road at the time. And it did well too for its time. Knowing how these cars are loved overseas as much as here in the states, chances are this car may end up in the Europe somewhere when the bidding has ended. A fair low reserve making this a car almost anyone can afford...Many of these cars where crushed and sent to the scrapper over the yrs, making them even more rare and more collectable these days. A brief description of the vehicle: This is or was a 1 owner car, owned by an older lady who has taken good care of her it over the years. Its been in Az its whole life and most of that time, in a garage when not on the road. Other then 1 small fender bender back in the 80s, the car still wears 80% of its original single stage Acrylic enamel paint. I couldnt even tell that the car had ever had any body repairs, it looks that good for its age. About 5 yrs ago the lady quite driving the car being that she was in her early 80s herself and the car sat for a few yrs. Some packrats got under the hood, about a yr ago so she had it taken to a shop and cleaned out the engine bay and do a mild tune up to get it back on the road. A mild tune up was done and carb rebuild. At the same time the guy working on it installed a electrical fuel pump on the car. It sat for another yr after that and the gas got bad again and the car wouldnt run. When we got the car, and for temp use we are currently running the engine off a small tank of gas under the hood. Like that its running well too. So before putting it back on the road, Id suggest dropping the tank, and having it cleaned out and check for any clogs in the fuel pick up in the tank. Sort that out, with some fresh gas, re hook it all back up to stock and it should be ready for the road again easily. Being a 4dr yet hardtop, pile in all your friends and go cruising around. It easily seats up to 6 people and if you roll down all the windows and let the breeze go thru the car, your are guaranteed to have a great time every time. The car gets alot of thumbs up wherever you are at. Check out All the pics below to get a better idea of what to expect. Pics are worth 1000 words and we have pics all around and under the car below, about 150 total. Not sure why more sellers dont do this, seems like the best way to sell a vehicle over the internet. Because the car has been off the road for a few yrs, Id probably suggest doing a full check of belts, hoses and maybe change some of the fluids before making it a daily driver, unless you plan on going thru the mechanics first during a restoration. Restore it back to stock or do something along the lines of a restomod with a small drop and some 20" cop car style rims on it would be awesome.. Either way, youd have a really cool and unique 1 of a kind car your friends only wished they had for such a low investment. Shows 73k on the odometer, but its prob rolled over at least once, but the motor was changed at least once in its life. DRIVETRAIN: the motor was replaced in the mid 90s, with what exactly, not sure. 400 possibly ? Motor does sound and run good for its age. A minor tune up was done last yr and carb rebuild. AC is all there but not blowing cold, its not been used for about 5 yrs. Trans and rearend work well and nothing there really to worry about. INTERIOR: All original yellow leather looks great for its age, and could probably use some cleaning, but it has been well taken care for by the original owner, older lady who loved this car. Carpets showing some age, but really for a daily driver the interior needs nothing I can see. Front bench seat is like sitting on a couch, same with the rear which is cool. All the glass is good and 3 out of the 4 PW all work, the RR window wants to move, but wont fully. Could be a bad regulator or rollers. All the rubber and weather stripping is dry and toasty. EXTERIOR: still wearing 80% of its original paint, its showing some fading all around, but luckily these older single stage acrylic paint jobs can be sanded and buffed out to look amazing again if you take the time to do so. I really may try to get it done this week depending on how well the bidding goes on the car. Inside the trunk looks original and complete, just maybe a little cleaning and vacuum. SUSPENSION: all factory the best I can tell and Im sure some bushings are old and shocks, but again this stuff is easy to fix these days. Its a little soft and mushy like most luxury cars from the era but these cars where built for comfort and thats at the top of the list. Im sure with a few upgrades it would be even more fun to drive. The torsion bar front end and rear leafs, making lowering this car if you want, super easy. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra schroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you have it, probably The BEST represented Furys on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers. Our auctions have NOTHING to hide . Restore a car like this yourself or locally and you know exactly what you have in the end. Email us with ANY questions before you bid please If you treat yourself to buying one of our vehicles youll never buy a total rust bucket again from anyone !!
