The City of Fernandina Beach is selling a 2004 Chevrolet Express 2500 passenger van by means of a NO RESERVE auction. This van was purchased new by the City and has been well maintained. This vehicle was used by our Parks & Recreation Department. The engine is a 6.0L V8 and it is coupled to an automatic transmission. Most of the miles on this van are highway miles. There were a few problems noted during a recent inspection and they are listed below:Paint is peeling in various areas, primarily on the left side of the vehicle around the passenger windowsThere is a metallic droning noise that is audible at low speeds. It has made this noise for a couple of years. GM dealership was not determine the problem.Light damage to the left rear of the vanRadio volume knob is near failure.
