Vehicle Detail

Collectible. Rideable. Garaged its entire life. 30 years old and nearly perfect. When Motorcyclist Magazine named the motorcycle of the century, they named the Honda 750 Four. But one of the runner's up was the 1983 Honda 750 VF750 F....the worlds first sport bike... First TRAC system (torque reactive anti-dive control). First use of 16 inch front wheel. (Imagine mind-reading turn-in capability) The unique V-4 engine that continues to today as one of the smoothest ways to get power without spreading the weight all over the bike. What's right and awesome: All major and minor components are the original. The bike starts, rides and does everything it did in 1983, pretty much as it did in 1983. Light. Fast. Smooth. Responsive. Paint is in incredible condition. one or two little chips, perhaps the size of What's not right and Awesome: The gas tank began to get rust spots in it due to some ethano-laced gasoline put in by a non savvy bike borrower. I did the rust removal treatment and let it dry for about three days with a fan in it, then the did the Red Coat treatment. Yes, we could just replace the tank, but then it wouldn't be original. So, the tank has had its issues, but that just a place to store gas, right? If you turned this bike into a museum piece, then you have no problem. If you ride it, you will need to re-coat the Red Coat stuff inside the tank every couple of years. Small price to pay to ride a 30 year old legend. Also, some of the rubber hoses are beginning to show their 30 years of age. All replaceable now or later...by me, or by you, take your pick. (Buy it now buyers get special privileges, you know) I can't tell you enough cool things about the VF750F bikes made in 1983...but if you study the development of this bike, you will learn. So...why sell? Great question. I'm the second owner. And I have recently contracted TMM. (Too Many Motorcycles) At least two have to go before I can get another one. And, I want another one. On Jan-24-15 at 06:01:40 PST, seller added the following information: perhaps the size of a capital O in arial 14 point type. Question: what is the red bag on the back of the bike?Answer: while I was re-surfacing the inside of the tank last summer, someone wanted to hear it run, so I put an aux tank on the back carrier and fired it up. It was all clean so I took a picture. I still have it if you want the same set up. Question: Can the bike be tagged and all that?Answer: Yes it's always been street legal and everything works. In fact I have it insured for the road.
