Yes, its not a Diamond Jubilee Edition , BUT its a fine example of a well loaded 78 T Bird Totally RUST FREE AZ CAR , very original unmolested 1 owner car thats been a great driver off and on for the last 20 yrs as a 2nd car. Please check out All the pics below, we posted over 100 pics and clearly try to represent and market our cars the best way possible for bidders who cant see the car in person. Probably the best marketed Tbird on ebay, we show as much as possible, good or bad... but honest. The car has been owned by an older gentleman for as long as we can track it back to 78 and dont think the car has even been out of AZ. Under the car you may see a bit of surface rust, but its about as solid as the day it left the showroom underneath. Never been undercoated, and never needed it. The best we can tell, the car has had a repaint , the original color back in the late 80s when clearcoat was first being used. The repaint honestly wasnt all that good, but its lasted up till now and works for a driver, just not a show car or good restored car. There are splotches of area where the clear is peeling. Also, more importantly, I didnt see any signs of previous damage or repairs to the original body panels. Although now the car did get 2 good size dent on the pass side down low behind both tires. They would repair easily enough, when you repaint the car but they need to be pointed out because they can be hard to see because the color of the car is so dark. The trim and rest of out side of the car is in great shape for being 32+ yr old car, and the chrome on the bumpers is all original and looks great too. Glass all looks good too. The car is VERY complete and about as original as they come. IF you want a nice SURVIVOR daily driver, this is the car to buy IF you want a nice Survivor TBIRD you want to spend very little restoring over the next yr or so, this is ALSO the car you want to buy, seeing as restoring this car would take less then most cars this age. Yes, shipping a car like this across country may sound expensive now, but whats your alternative ??? Buy a car with rust issues closer to you, and spend 2 or 3x more the money fixing rust for 2 weeks while its sitting at a body shop, which makes more sense, really ? Thats a pretty easy one to answer. You could do drive it around like this everyday as a cruiser and daily driver and on weekends do some detailing and minor repairs the car could use... or you could go one step further and restore the paint and some mechanicals ...The interior and suspension look and feel great for its age. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence. NOT MANY OF THESE 7th Gen Thunderbirds are around anymore this rust free. Many where crushed and sent to the boneyards. DRIVETRAIN: the original 302 V8 2v motor and auto trans..Looks great and well kept under the hood too. No mods, nice clean original look which is all these cars really need. Its not running as smooth as it could, so Im sure its probably ready for a good full tune up, but there are no weird noises coming from the engine and no smoke etc out the exhaust. Its a turn key , hop in and drive around car as is. A full Tune it up and it would be nicer. Tires are pretty old but okay for short trips around town for now. I did put a new cap & rotor on it today helping with part of the tune up. It actually helped alot too. What look great and are a nice Option on this car are the factory Turbine Style Alloy rims. Transmission feels fine as do the brakes too. The AC is all connected, but not cold. INTERIOR: seeing as the car has been garaged most its life the interior shows very well for its age and shows well for a daily driver. Factory power Split bench up front with folding armrest, the blue Velour 70s era is in great shape for its age once again. Even the carpet still in good shape. It does have that 70s interior smell you cant miss, but thats easy enough to take care of. All the interior courtesy lights seem to work , but the instrument gauges not working, Im going to try to check the fuse this week. Overall the interior would be fine as is for a daily driver, wouldnt need much to restore it at all. Im sure the build sheet is probably still in the car somewhere. Probably the nicest part of the car. Is like sitting on your couch in your living room. Radio turns on and works if you adjust it slowly and carefully. EXTERIOR: body for its age, is great for a daily driver or weekend car show fun, even with the paint and few dents. Rest of the body looks nice.. we went over some of the areas with the few dents earlier in the auction. There is NO sign of any rust under the split vinyl top, thanks to the AZ climate. The split vinyl top looks original and is peeling up in a few areas, but luckily, they dont cost all that much to replace these days. TRUNK: very original and could be used as is, even the carpets are in nice shape. Lift up the carp and you wont find ANY rust like a back east car this old. Spare and all the jack stuff seems to be in tact and no signs of any rust (az car) SUSPENSION: basically bone stock suspension thats been taken care of over the years. I hear a few things when driving it like maybe a worn out sway bar bushing or something, but its not all the time. Im sure knowing the cars age, it may have some worn out bushings here and there, but any car this old its not uncommon. The car glides down the road like it was 1980 all over again almost.. Ive seen some people update these cars with newer 20" bolt on rims and tires and they actually look pretty nice if done well. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. Heres a great chance to buy a 70s classic T BIRD that you dont see much anymore even at car shows..But it is a car that reminds us of a different time while growing up.
