Very nice 1965 Galaxie pulled out of a barn in NE Ohio. I do not know how long the car was stored. It was covered in dust. Mileage is original per prior owner. I did list it earlier this year "as is" after I had it towed from the barn and before any work was completed. It hit $2,000 in bidding but was short of my reserve. It was one of about 15 Galaxies from the 60's that had been stored for some time. I purchased this one and a 1966 that I will sell in 2015. I am the third owner. Here is what I have done to the Galaxie: All new brakes, brake lines and fuel tank. Drums were turned or replaced as needed. Gas lines and carburetor were replaced. Full tune up including wires, plugs, distributor cap, oil change and grease job. Also flushed the coolant and replaced. The 289 engine is original and starts and runs very well. I have driven on highway and side streets. It is quiet and has no leaks. The transmission shifts smoothly. Paint appears to be original per the shop that buffed it out. It really looks good. There are a few spots where the paint was "burned"d by the buffing wheel. There are also some stains in the paint that show in the pictures which are most likely from the raccoons that left a mess on the trunk while stored and uncared for. When pulled from the barn the bumpers had a protective coating that was removed. They look great. The chrome on the car is beautiful and all the trim is in great shape. The interior is in excellent condition with the exception of the drivers door armrest. It is cracked and needs to be replaced. I have not looked for one yet. The bottom frame rails were rotted and new ones were welded in by a professional body shop. Headlights all work. Tall lights work including brake, turn signals, parking lights and interior lights. The trunk looks solid although both wells were foamed (see pics). The dash looks like new and the only issues are the clock (doesn't work) and the horn ring is loose. I am not sure if the fuel gauge works, it shows full and I will not be driving it to check. I did replace the plastic retaining clip on the horn ring and it probably just needs to be adjusted. Both horns do work. Original paperwork is included as well as the manual. Jack looks unused. The body has a dent on the front drivers fender and a cracked headlight bezel. (see pics) I will e-mail pics, just ask and car is available for inspection. It makes a great almost all original car as is and with a little work could be a very nice show car. Great driver and reasonable reserve. Sold as is, no warranty. Clear title and bill of sale. I hate to see it go but have a 66 7 Litre convertible that I have to finish and don't have time for this one. Bid with confidence, I am not a car dealer. Floor mats for front are included. Tires are Sears Super Guard Rayon Belted G78-15 and have good tread left but show signs of dry rot. All glass is in excellent condition. Chrome around vent windows really nice.
