Here is a 67 Pontiac Tempest convertible which I recently rescued from the front yard of an old timers estate who owned it since the early 80's . I purchased the balance of his parts collection along with 2 cars , this being one of them. This would be a great project or parts car . As you can see the car needs everything except a convertible top which isnt that old . The previous owners relatives that sold it to me said that the car was a running car , but they were not sure when the last time it was started so Im assuming , but not guaranteeing that the motor may be usable . The guy who had this car also had at one time a real 67 GTO convertible which was wrecked so he began combining the 2 cars to make one .He even swapped the number plates from the other car onto this body , but I switched them back so that there was no chance of any misrepresentation . The car has its original plates back on it now. He did have the GTO tail light panel welded into the car , switched some of the interior trim over & a few exterior pieces including the hood which is rough along the bottom edge . There was a 67 GTO header with grills inside the car so it goes with it . The motor that is in it now is a 290 HP 1968 400 4 bbl, coded XV with a TH350. Automatic transmission ,10 bolt posi rear, bench seat with power convertible top & original am radio . This was a column shift car , but someone mounted a floor shifter inside it which is not hooked up . 4 Rally II pontiac wheels (1 tire keeps going flat) The interior needs to be replaced as shown & as expected , but the door panels look like they may clean up . The exterior body will need to be completely reskinned & doors replaced as you can see & will also need rear wheel housings . The floor & trunk pans both need to be replaced . The hardest thing that will need to be fixed that I can see is the left rocker panel has some pretty bad rust in it as shown towards the front . I have not had the car on a lift , but I did jack it up & I can not see any rust holes in the frame . I see 1 body mount hole that looks like they may have opened it up a little on 1 side , but other than that I can not see any major issues. Not to say someone wont find anything after they pull the body off the frame . Fortunately this car was on concrete , not grass so it helped a little . Again this car needs everything & is as shown . If the frame turns out to have no issues its worth a good $2000-$2500 by itself & the rear seat will bring $700 so when you add it all up I think its reasonable priced . Car currently does not run & will need to be towed at the buyers expense . Sold as is with clear title . Please look over the pics at the bottom of the page . So, for those like me who dont have $40K or so to throw down for a done car , this may be something to consider. Having a project in the works is certainly better than having nothing if you want an old muscle car . It will certainly be a great looking car when its done ! Please look over the pics . I can usually combined shipping on SAME DAY (Note: SAME DAY) auctions depending on the size of the items or how delicate an item is .I do not want to have to wait an extra week to be paid for an item in the following weeks listings that you may not even win . For example I can not combined items like a rally wheel & a steering column because they can not be packed together because of their sizes , or a piece of NOS trim & a steering column because of how delicate trim is.
