1977 FJ40 up for auction. This is a good solid cruiser, it has the typical FJ40 age related issues but it is a great platform to either go all out with a restore or do the bare minimum and continue using it for another 40 years. Vehicle presents at least as well in person as it does in pictures. Paint is completely serviceable if you are looking for a "wheeling" cruiser. Front foot well metal needs to be replaced on drivers and passengers. Drivers rocker needs to be replaced. Balance of vehicle is good and remaining rust can be patched without complete panel repair. Rear sill is in surprisingly good condition as is the rear floor. Firewall forward is awesome and this cruiser is very tight without any sag or looseness in the fenders/apron/etc. All of the existing issues are typical of FJ40's so really this one is actually a lot better than most. Front seats and rear jump seats are with the vehicle and are original and will need to be recovered. All glass is chip/crack free. Hard Doors also included. Car starts easy and drives forwards, backward and stops. Carb (Aisan) needs to be rebuilt or replaced as the gaskets are old and fuel weeps out the longer the engine runs. Original Air Cleaner is included with sale but is not pictured. Some baselining of the motor has occured and is summarized below: 1. Resurfaced Flywheel 2. New Rear Oil Main Seal 3. New Pilot Bearing 4. New Bell Housing Bolts 5. New Engine Mounts 6. Replaced Oil Pan Gasket 7. Cleaned Pan and Pickup Screen 8. Replaced Timing Cover and Crank Seals 9. Replaced Hoses and Belts 10. Removed and Blocked off Emission Tubes 11. Radiator Flush, New Cap, New Thermostat Also has newer tires with lots of tread remaining Sold with a Title, not just a Bill of Sale!!!!!
