Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a very clean, low original mileage 1973 Ford LTD Country Squire 9 passenger wagon. My good friend purchased this from the original owner about 2 years ago out near Palm Springs, California. He brought it back to Huntington Beach and had the complete car gone through from top to bottom. It has very low original miles and run superb. I have driven this car a couple of times and it is very tight and quiet. Probably as smooth as the Lincoln Mark V that I used to drive 25 years ago! As you can see by the photos, it is all original down to the paint. The gold color is rare on the wagons from what I have been told. The paint is a bit thin in a few places with some primer showing, but still has a very nice shine. Very straight sheet metal for a car of this age. The fit of the body panels is great. All of the door open and close smooth and quiet. Nice chrome and trim and the wood grain is not terrible, but original. Nice big roof rack for your surfboards or luggage. Rear window/hatch is mult-facited in it's operation and works fine. The interior is all original and very nice, showing pride of ownership. It spent most of it's life in a senior mobile home park car port and since my friend purchased it, the car has been stored inside always. This is the 9 passenger model with the rear seats that face each other... All interior lights and gadgets work properly, including the OEM radio. Some minor wear here and there, but far above average for a car half it's age. You will love this interior! The mechanical systems seem excellent. She drives smooth and quiet. I know he had many items replaced to bring this car up to a very reliable standard. I can get a list from him if you request one. The engine bay is very clean and there are no leaks or issues. The only thing not working is the a/c. It needs a charge. The transmission is very tight and shifts smooth. This car from what I can tell has the tow package with the heavier springs and big sway bars, heavy duty radiator, power steering cooler, etc. Runs and drives very nice with an overall nice, quiet, and confident feel. Far better than I would figure a 41 year old car could still drive. All in all, if you are looking for a So. California original Country Squire, this is it. Not mint restored condition, but very well maintained and cared for original condition. This vehicle has always been adult/senior owned and was never a kid hauler... now that is rare. Don't miss out on this beautiful old gal. These are getting hard to find, especially in this condition and are appreciating in value fast. Buy this nice old wagon.. drive her.. enjoy her... care for her.. and watch your investment grow... Please ask any and all questions before bidding. Thank you On Dec-08-14 at 20:22:33 PST, seller added the following information: A fellow Ebay'r let me know that this wagon has the very rare brougham interior.. I believe the front seats are in great shape and those are real sheep skin seat covers that have been protecting the front seats for years. The pictures really are a detriment to this car. It looks a lot better in person... and the interior is really nice. The original paint shines a lot better than the photos depict. These photos came from my good friend who owns it. I should have taken them myself. Somebody will get a steal on this wagon because of the photo quality. Thanks...
