AXLE TRANS You are looking at an original 1966 ford Mustang fastback that left the factory a very nice A Code believed to be a GT car. This car would make a beautiful original 66 fastback. The thing that sets this car apart from others is the original drivetrain. Drivetrain: This car still has its original 289 4v engine and original 4 speed close ratio toploader. The engine still has its original 4v carb with the C6Z number stamped onto it. Engine: 289 4V Original metal ID Tag is on Engine Block C5AE-6015-A 6D Date code Heads 6D Cate Codes Intake 6 D date code Carburetor C6Z Original Starter Exhaust manifolds still on it Distributor not original Engine needs rebuilt. Transmission: Original HEH-BT 4 Speed Toploader Close Ratio Car still retains its 4 speed pedals, and all of the linkage. The toploader even has it’s original shifter on it. Body: The car does come with some new sheetmetal. New fenders are on the car, as well as a new front and rear valance. It also comes with a new trunk filler panel that goes in between the rear glass and the trunk lid. It also comes with new trunk floor pans. The body on the car needs a lot of metal work. I would recommend full quarters, trunk pans, lower cowl, fender apron work, some frame rail work, and the roof is dented. So for the body, I would say its need a lot of sheetmetal / rust repair work all over. The good thing is all of the parts are readily available to fix all of the rust issues. The car comes with a few interior pieces, and an NOS hood molding still in the wrapper is also included with the car. The back glass and the side glass windows are in the car. The car also has its original 5 dial instrument cluster and radio. The original console bezel piece that goes around the shifter is also there and that is a hard to find original piece. The car still had its original dual exhaust on it when I got it. This is an excellent opportunity to get a highly desirable 66 fastback that has its ORIGINAL drivetrain. The VIN is stamped twice on two different fender aprons. I have misplaced the door tag but am actively looking for it.
