It has been in storage for the past year but has been started and driven successfully within the past month. RUNS GREAT IT IS STILL VERY DRIVABLE!! Highly modified, super fun former daily driver until going into storage September 2013. Clear Title! Originally a Red 1968 Basic Beetle; fiberglass DOMAS? conversion kit added possibly in 1970's, Rebuilt in 1995-6. Painted Kawasaki Green, Fiberglass Baja Hood with custom seal and Front Fenders; Baja headlight grilles, powder coated VW factory rims (no spare), Custom fabricated black powder-coated steel bumpers, mirrors from 1990 Ford Tempo, heavy duty front sway-bar with urethane bushings, braided stainless steel brake lines, adjustable coil-over rear shocks, 3/4" marine plywood bed with tonneau fabric covering & four marine grade nylon tie-down cleats with S/S hardware; LED Taillights, School Bus Backup lights, rear red side marker lights, wired for towing with diode kit that enables towing vehicle to control lights of towed vehicle (custom tow-bar included but missing a retainer bolt.). INTERIOR: Custom charcoal truck (GM?) material interior with overhead console (extra room for other gauges, switches, etc.), map reading lights from Datsun 280Z, Wink 5-panel rear view mirror, two-piece fiberglass dash (JC Whitney) with VDO Cockpit Gauges: Speedometer/Odometer, fuel gauge, Tachometer, oil pressure (red) & generator (amber) lights, custom steering wheel, stock windshield wiper switch, emergency flashers and headlights, dual stock interior dome lights (not hooked up, wiring is there), All wiring is intact and to my knowledge all electricals work (except where noted), Brand New Battery!, Passenger seat has been removed but is included. Heater booster electric fan kit installed in floor pan ducts with switch in center console. 12v outlet and horn button also mounted in center vertical console. There are areas of the interior that do show wear and other small damaged areas as this has been a daily driver for the past 18 or 19 years! ENGINE: Stock 1600cc GEX rebuild (unknown mileage on engine), dual-port intake with urethane boots, center mount Webber Progressive Carburetor two-barrel (32/36) with electric choke, Bosch 009 distributor with Ignitor electronic ignition, Bosch Blue Coil, doghouse fan shroud with oil cooler, CB Performance heavy duty oil pump with remote/external filter, Claude's Buggies/CB Performance Deep Sump oil pan with "cow magnet", aluminum degreed pulley, powder coated fan shroud, cylinder tin and alternator stand; Custom fabricated exhaust with dual stainless steel silencers. SPARE PARTS INCLUDED: NEW Clutch Cable, NEW Steering Dampner, NEW 2 front turn signal lenses, NEW chrome crankshaft pulley nut & washer, NEW black fresh air heater hoses, NEW backup light switch, NEW school bus reverse light assy., NEW Maxi Cool Racing Oil Cooler 1723 from Chirco VW, NEW 2 front outer wheel bearings from Mid America Motorworks, NEW valve cover gaskets (2 sets), NEW oil change gaskets for deep sump and stock oil galley plate, NEW NOS WCM pair front turn signal gaskets, NEW Cal Stops; NEW oil pump puller, NEW copper exhaust nuts, NEW door hinge screw covers. Front axle beam lower driver's side grease fitting is sheared off and the corner is rusted through (pic 10) How new is engine? Engine was purchased remanufactured in 1989-90, mileage unknown Which parts are plastic and which are body sheet metal? All fenders, hood and bed support (the rear area under the upholstered plywood) are fiberglass as is the panel surrounding the rear window glass. All these areas are metal: Doors, roof, front and read side quarter panels. How much to let it go ? There is no reserve. Do you ship? I will include NEW REPLACEMENT WINDOW CHANNEL with this auction for buyer to install if they wish. Also, powered MTX subwoofer and Kenwood CD/USB head unit, Kenwood Amp and 2 Blaupunkt speakers, 2 in-dash mounted tweeters are included. ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION CAMBER COMPENSATOR IS INSTALLED...prevents wheel tuck during cornering with swing-axle transaxle beetles.
