Vehicle Detail
This is a solid little Falcon Futura Hardtop that I recently bought and was planning on getting back on the road with a father-son restoration project with it ending up in his possession. However, my son just bought a house and now will not have the time to participate, and I am too old and too tired to do it all by myself, so it's up for sale. I have ten other restored cars already and just don't need the hassle of this one. But it certainly is a solid little car with no rust out on the floors or in the trunk and with a very small amount of labor could be running down the road again soon. If you know about these little Ford products you will recognize how little must be done to bring it back to life. These Falcon hardtops sell for upwards of 10 grand when finished. When I got it, the previous owners had removed the engine, front fenders, hood, and front bumper. They told me that the engine ran ok but smoked. The head was reworked at the cost of nearly $400.00, and the automatic transmission got a B&M shift kit in the valve body along with new seals, so it will not need anything. The tires have plenty of tread but have been sitting for awhile. Both bumpers will need to be replated with the front one rusty and painted silver. Some obvious fixes that would be necessary would be a new master cylinder and wheel cylinders, a better radiator and windshield and rear window weather seals. Both must have leaked because the other owner had ran a line of rtv silicone seal around each of them, which is ugly but worked. All the glass is in very good shape, and as the photos show, the interior will need no work at all. The seats, door panels, carpet and headliner are ready to go. As for the body, it is straight as you can see and will need next to nothing as far as getting it ready for a new paint job. The original color is dark metallic blue. I reinstalled the front fenders, hood, etc and the engine and trans just enough to enable the car to be moved. I have all the major parts to put everything back together again along with a brand new chrome plated valve cover and air cleaner. I think I have honestly described the car, but will be open to any questions anyone might have.
