This is a NO RESERVE auction so it will sell regardless of price. Bidding will start at $1 and the high bidder will be the new owner (please don't bid unless you are a serious buyer - I put it on here to sell). This is a Very Rare 1959 Ford Skyliner Retractable Hardtop Fairlane Galaxie 500 2 Door Car. The car is complete and mostly original condition. The paint is original as well as the interior. I have an extra front bumper in nice shape that goes with. Also a few other extra parts. The original automatic transmission was replaced with a 3 speed manual transmission. Engine may not be original also, I think its a 272 V8. According to the VIN tag, it has a 292 V8 engine with an automatic transmission. Engine starts good and runs nice and doesn't seem to have any issues. Brakes are weak but work. Tires are nice. Odometer reads 23,798 but it probably turned over meaning actual miles are probably 123,798. Glass is ok and the windows all go up and down nice. Front and back seats are all original and in decent shape but will need recovering. Electric motors, solinoids, and screw jacks for the top all work good. I just jump the solinoids to run each cycle manually. You'd have to work on it some to get the whole process of top up/top down to run with one switch, like it did from the factory. I don't have enough knowledge to figure that out. The car starts, runs, and drives but the car will need a full restoration to make it right. It has some rust issues underneath. One spot on the frame but mostly rockers, lower fenders, a couple holes in the floor pans, and other normal areas like above the headlights and a little on the front hood. Small dent in the right front and a dent in the left rear otherwise pretty straight metal. Clear transferable Minnesota title in my name. These retractables are very rare and desirable and worth a lot fully restored. I can store for a while as long as its paid for right away. Pick it up whenever you're ready.
