It is a project car that I am selling for a friend and my knowledge on these cars is very limited so I would suggest viewing the car in person before purchase, or having it checked out by an expert, if at all possible. When it was found by its current owner it had been sitting for many years in the back of a repair facility with no engine. He had a spare 1800cc VW motor so he had it fitted with a fabricated engine support so that nothing was cut. It starts, runs, drives and stops. The engine sounds healthy and it runs strong but spits and sounds like it could do with a tune-up. The gear shift is vague but it seems to have all the gears and they don’t grind or jump out. The body has a few small areas of rust, one is under the back seat on the drivers side where the rear window rubber has leaked and allowed water to accumulate. One in the center of the floor towards the front and on the tops of the front fenders, see pictures. The main tub and floors are in very good condition. The interior is in rough shape. It needs paint as the clearcoat has lifted on the roof and front. It is, I think, relatively complete, someone stole the drivers side headlight surround. The car is registered in California until July 2015 and has a clear title.Miles showing are not considered accurate.
