I am downsizing and are in the beginning of selling my 30+ collection of classic cars and trucks. This truck has been a well taken care of truck. It has been garaged for the last 20+ years that I could find through my research. I have owned the truck for the last 7 years. It is a model 212BD which means it is a Deluxe cab and 2.5-3 ton model carrying capacity. The GVW on the vin plate says max is 12,000 pounds. It came to me in running and somewhat driving condition and below is a list of what I have done to it in the last 7 years.1. A new Rhode Island Wiring service metal shield harness was installed. $500.00 parts plus $800.00 installation2. Fuel tank flushed, NOS fuel pump installed and carburetor rebuilt. $600.003. New tires, tubes and flaps installed on sandblasted and powder coated rims $3200.00 (Milestar 7.50-20 rear and 7.00-20 front 10 ply E-rated)4. Acquire and restore original 20" Diamond T hubcaps. 5 hubcaps included that have been media blasted, powder coated with Super Chrome and then Clear powder coated over that for durability. $3500.005. Remove head, plane and deck, new head gasket. $350.006. Complete brake job including NOS master cylinder, Stainless steel re-sleeved wheel cylinders, new linings, flycut drums. $1800.007. Re-chrome front grill, hood ornament, front bumper and bumper guards. $3900.008. Repair and rebuild headlights (15" long Diamond T special headlights) $600.009. Redo all rubber parts as needed, windshield rubber, rear window rubber, cowl to body rubber, vulcanize gas pedal and clutch and brake pedals, new floor mat (reproduction), arm rest rubber $1200.0010. Rebuild water pump with correct ceramic bearing/bushing and distributor drive $1600.0011. New glass in side windows and back windows, repair and lubricate window and door regulator mechanisms. $600.0012. Rebuild front wind out winshield regulators $300.0013. Remove, media blast and paint upper dash and drivers wipe panels $700.0014. Custom make Aircraft grade tachometer 0-5000 RPM in 6 volt positive ground $400.0015. Purchase and install Cats-Eye 6 volt fog lights, new heater motor. $500.0016. Get all gauges working except clock, remove and rebuild all cables (choke, spark, throttle, etc), purchase correct Diamond T cats eye cigar lighter $530.0017. Acquire and install Correct restored Diamond T Deluxe banjo steering wheel and horn button assembly. $2200.0018. Remove radiator, take apart, rod out and re-install $425.0018. Miscellaneous other repairs I forgot $ XXXX ?I was going to make a drop panel stake truck when I started the reconditioning of this truck.......and just did not get the bed done. This truck is a driver. Paint has been touched up several places and looks to be repaint of about 15 years ago. The seat was reupholstered in correct Diamond T green vinyl when I got it. The top speed id 48 miles per hour ....but my experience that the "sweet spot" is around 38 MPH. My longest journey has been a 75 mile round trip.....and the truck ran great on that trip. Temp runs about 180 degrees. Oil pressuse at start up is 40+ pounds and running oil pressure is about 25 pounds. It does draw a crowd.....mainly for the extreme Art Deco styling. We have housed it in our Art Deco Museum for several years. It has the Hercules JXA engine believed to be original to the truck. Hercules built and extremely fine engine for many truck and bus manufacturers...and they built a lot of them. Known for reliability with 7 main bearings on an inline six cylinder engine......the first suggested overhaul was an in-frame at 500,000 miles and a replacement at 1,000,000 miles.......these trucks were built for service! It does have the classic passengers side tool box with key. It has some rust underneath the running boards. The body is sheel metal over wood.....and looks very good. Wood in doors is good but drives door lower panel looks to have had a repair and the wood inside is just OK....serviceable. This isnot a 100 point show truck......but does wow the crowd!It has a three speed transmission with straight cut gears ( double clutching necessary). The truck does NOT have a spare rim and tire. Here are some dimensions on the truck:Overall width at tread 81"Wheelbase 166"Overall length 262" (21' 10")Overall height 76"Back of cab to end of frame 144"Cab to axle 84" Its a big truck and very manly......you get noticed.....that Hercules motor sounds like a diesel to many people. It drives like a 60+ year old truck.....heavy springs and HD Clarke axles.It has a clear California title in my name...ready for that new owner. The truck is registered PNO and insured.The YOM plates are not included in the price but can be purchased for an additional $300.00 if desired. They are registered to the truck.I have put a reserve on this auction to protect some of my investment.
