1984 Subaru BRAT SUPER LOW RESERVE: BID TO WIN !! 1984 Subaru Brat 4WD 1.8L w/ factory 5 speed With factory Sideways flip open T TOPS The coolest look for this awesome little classic Subie ! Ive been using this Brat for running errands around the shop for the last 6 months. It runs and drives well, doesnt idle all the time well, sometimes its up and down. It may be a vaccum line or leak. It has a brand new set of 13" tires on it too with less then 500 miles on them. The Brat was in CO for a few yrs but has spent the last 24 yrs in Tucson and the AZ desert, and its been parked for the last 15 of those yrs. It wasnt driven all that much around town at all. When we got it, we dropped the gas tank and had it flushed out, cleaned out all the lines, put in fresh gas and changed some fluids, AND installed a new fuel pump. We cranked it up a few times and it fired right up, idles well too. We also changed the lower radiator hose and it looks like its going to need a water pump soon too. I believe the paint to be all original, the areas where the black top coat is gone, looks like factory primer (or bare steel...no rust) Dr door has a dent which can probably be popped out easy enough, just havent had the time to pull the panel. One other thing, since we did the fuel tank, and re-installed it, we couldnt find a gasket for the sending unit so I tried making one out of gasket material but the tank still leaks if you put more then 3 gallons in it from the sender. That gasket will need to be fixed if you want to fill the tank like its suppose to be used. Its real simple to get to w/o pulling the tank. You can see it in some of the pics below OUR 100% feedback speaks for itself and many of our feedback are from about 15 cars we sold just this past year here on EBay. We put more time and effort into our ads making it much easier for the potential buyers to bid with confidence. NOT MANY OF THESE TRUCKS are around anymore this rust free. YES it has some surface rust, but paint looks to be all original The rockers got the worst of the rust and one of the lower doors (see pics) Not bad for an AZ truck DRIVETRAIN: factory original boxer 4 cyl with 128k on it. The motor sounds good and the 4 wheel on the fly seems to work great !. Trans feels good too, but the clutch may need to be adjusted or more, the car tends to move when barely lifting the pedal off the floor. Again for around town and stuff its been okay. Subaru was smart, the motor is set up to install AC easier then normal under the hood. Same for the interior. On the car are some nice chrome aftermarket 13" wheels which car in good shape (center caps, not as good). If there is a winner, they have the OPTION of buying a stock set of steel wheels I had powdercoated last yr with a good set of caps. Im asking $200 for the set, thats how much I have into them. INTERIOR: obviously needs a some restoration, but looks complete and all the main stuff there. Seats, dash etc.. The AZ SUN and heat has been pretty hard on the plastic and rubber. The cloth is fair You can see the pics its rough and original... but still easier to fix then days of rust. The only spot I found rust, driver side rocker area when you open the door, about 6" long (see pics) All the gauges seem to work properly and light up as they should. EXTERIOR: body for the most part decent, it has its share of dents etc. Hard to see sometimes in the pics, but the car being black, and pics taken in good lighting you can see the body better. Its not a restored truck, but it would be a great BRAT to restore and one of the easier ones to do too. The car has some factory options like the chrome wheels & pushbar too. Jumpseats are all complete and still there too. Glass is all good, and windows work well too. Nice sliding back window too. THE BED looks to be pretty decent too, of course with the factory jump seats. Has a few dents, but looked for rust and didnt see ANY. Tailgate works like its suppose to also. SUSPENSION: basically all stock and original and probably may need some updating, but the car drives and tracks well down the road. I did notice the steering wheel is off center but it drives fine. Check out ALL the pics below -----> it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. Heres a great chance to buy the Brat youve been wanting.
