NO RESERVE!!! Low Starting Bid... 1973 VW Camper Van and VW parts lot - sold as a package. The car is complete but not running and engine is out. There is a spare engine in the parts lot along with another transmission and another engine case and lots of misc. parts, heads, sheet metal, mufflers, etc - some new stuff. All the hard mechanical engine parts are old German VW stuff. It is from a friend’s estate and I am listing it for his daughter who just needs to get everything cleared out. The car has not run in over 20+ years and has sat in the same spot outdoors, luckily it is in dry Southern California. It has always been in So Cal and the car is solid! I could find nothing but surface rust however I was not able to look underneath the car to check out the floors. To be safe, I would expect that occasional rain could have caused some rust in the floor which may need some patching but overall this is a very solid car with no accident damage. The engine is currently out and on the ground under a tarp. Condition of engine is unknown but turns, however I would expect to rebuild it. Exact mileage is unknown. Interior needs refurbishment. Please look the photos over carefully. The car is complete but needs a full restoration. The car is sold AS IS, WHERE IS!!! One of the rear tires is flat along with the spare and they will not hold air so the buyer will have to bring another wheel/tire or deal with the flat. The car is in a driveway with easy access to the street. Seller has signed clear pink slip (title).I will try and answer any questions however I am remote from the car so I can not check anything physically. My knowledge of the car's history is limited.This is a good opportunity to pick up a classic VW camper van cheap!!!Full payment due through PayPal within 3 days. On Oct-28-14 at 13:51:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I have a folder which has lots of past receipts as well as the original Owner's Manual.On Oct-29-14 at 16:01:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I have verified that there are some rust holes in the floor behind the driver's seat, as expected. There could be other rust areas on the floor which would be better seen when the car is put on a lift. This rust is caused by rainwater leaking into the cab over the years so expect to do some floor patching/welding. I just want to make the description as accurate as possible so that the buyer has no surprises.
