This is the kind of unique car that is nearly impossible to walk or drive by without squeezing off a double take or three. The owner’s unique personality and style are all wound into this vision of Old Classic Beauty, Modern, Luxurious Road Car, and Family Hot Rod/Beach Cruiser/SUV. It is nearly impossible to describe this one-off Custom Modified Modern Show Car. Perfection is a naughty word to throw around when it comes to automotive anything. This vehicle exudes perfection; in Design, in Workmanship, Appearance, Performance, Handling and Ride Quality. Perfection Abounds in this 57 Two-Door Classic Nomad Wagon. You can See it, Feel it, Hear it and Smell it. It was the recipient of what can only be described as an outstanding nut-and-bolt restoration to a fit and finish better than the factory ever knew was possible. Most of the restoration work, especially the body and paint was performed by “Customs & Classics” of Moscow, TN. The owner, Robert Wooley is famous for having personally worked on many of Elvis cars. He is a craftsman of the highest order and kept detailed notes on every aspect of the restoration. His extensive notes are included with all the other manuals, receipts, period promotional literature and owner’s manual as well as a photo journal of the build. There is a unique perfection in this over-all masterpiece. This uniqueness comes from the blend of new modern mechanical and electronic technology to the grace and elegance of a 50’s Rare Classic. Just the right touches from a Modern Tilt Steering Column to a wonderful Billet Stainless & Leather Steering Wheel with Power Steering. From the gorgeous Custom Designed Radiator and Support System to the wonderful installation of modern interior materials and air conditioning vents under the classic dash. Just the right touches of Modern and Classic abound at every corner and quality inch of this near BRAND NEW Automobile. Absolutely stunning body panel fit and paint work catch your eye first, followed by the brightwork and polished stainless inside and out. Check out the crispness and incredible fit to the trim all the way around this car. Every single piece was attended to and is perfection. The way the rubber fits so snugly into trim makes it all POP in their alignment together, creating an effect that is hard to fake. Normally you only see this type of fitment in really original survivor type of cars. The Paint finish is deep, smooth and flat, with zero orange peel. There are several pictures of the body and frame before they were repainted and you can see just how straight and nice everything was at the end of the prep process, just before the paint application. The Chrome is top notch all the way around the car and was likely a five to six thousand dollar investment. These little Chevs are chock FULL of chrome and stainless; every single piece was attended to with the highest standards of excellence in materials used and craftsmanship. The overall effect of the paint, edges, trim and rubber gives this car almost a concour type of feel to it. Normally when I see these cars I am completely disappointed in the way these treatments work together, giving the car an amateur feel. You will not be disappointed by the fit and finish on this car. It’s a 10. Period. The interior is nearly flawless, from paint finish to carpet and headliner installation. I’m not quite sure if you can see it in the headliner, but there is a wonderful grain finish that makes me think it is a very rich leather. I’m not positive, but if it is a vinyl it is some amazing stuff, because it feels and looks like real deal high-end leather. The car is very well optioned with.... as you can tell from the list above. Check out the clips and rubber grommets and simply gorgeous Stainless Steel Hinges on the hood. Those beauties look like they cost $300 each. They don’t have hinges like that on new Ferrari’s that cost $300K. The firewall and underside of the hood look like they were color-sanded and buffed to the same perfection as the outside of the car. The Interior looks as though no human has ever sat in it. It evokes a 50’s feel with all the nuance of a 2014 modern build. An amazing blend of new and old with tasteful colors and matching floor mats and modern gauges highlighting the classic shapely dash. Everything matches and coordinates into an exciting interior that is cooled by the Vintage Air System that works to perfection. Even the clock movement is sweeping and keeps accurate time. The Stainless Steel and polished metal theme carries over from the engine area into the interior highlighting once again the thoughtful and meticulous care that went into this Rock Star quality build. Little things like the shift arm end are stainless and notice the ribbed casing to the arm that holds the rear view mirror in place. I have never seen these pieces in a build like this and almost make me wonder if they were sculpted exclusively for this one of a kind build. I simply cannot overstate how everything works together so effectively and effortlessly. This is a rarity in these kinds of builds as something always feels just off or too over the top. Not here, this is class all the way. This is a true gentleman’s paradise on wheels. Just look at the detail inside the glove box or down in the corners of the door jambs where the paint is as flat, cleaned, polished and finished as nice as the hood. Everywhere your eye travels it is met with the same high-quality visual experience. Absolutely NOTHING was left unfinished or hurried. This was truly someones labor of love. The front seat is really cool, it is a bench with mid-back (not high-back and not low-back) cushions that are easily adjusted forward or back for the perfect feel or lay it back all the way for a nap on a long trip. Most of these older seat configurations just lock you into one spot; but not on this well thought out Resto-Ride. There are some extra pints of paint in the back and some interesting tidbits that go with the car. Driving a Performance Hot Rod like this one starts with a quick turn of the key which lights up the sound of a gentle thunder emanating from below. The 350 Small Block comes alive without the slightest hesitation. Placing it in gear finds a quick snap into gear with the astonishing Four-Speed Automatic Transmission and just the right amount of rumble from the Custom Exhaust as you accelerate from stopped. Not too loud, not too quiet, perfection. How did they do this?? Driving the car is best described as a sensual experience. Tell it to go FAST and it thunders at the slightest touch to the accelerator. Roll the seat back and settle in to the open road with the ride quality of a Mercedes Benz S Class. This is a Motorcar that can do almost anything you want it to do. Throw your surfboard in the back or throw the kids in your 1957 “Grand Touring” Wagon and drive to the Grand Canyon on an Adventure Vacation. Who needs an SUV when you have this one-of-a-kind rig. Remember, this is a modern car from suspension to drive-train to modern driving conveniences such as power steering, power disc-brakes and a modern stereo set-up. And, IT’S A HOT ROD TOO. This beauty has it all. Whether you are donning a pair of Board Shorts or a Tuxedo, you will always feel just right in this once in a life-time Dream Machine. This is the way to purchase a fine specimen of automobilia extraordinaire. Let someone else do all the work and you just sit back and enjoy the ride. I cannot stress to any potential buyer how important it is to come and look at this amazing automobile if you are a serious buyer. To see it is to experience it. We will be happy to take you for a spin so you can feel it, hear it and experience the artistry that is this stunning Chevy Nomad Resto-Creation. Call Frank at 949-310-6262 for an appointment.
