Vehicle Detail
True Z code Galaxie, original 4 speed car, 1963 390 numbers matching block. Rebuilt standard bore block with flat top pistons 10-1 cc ratio. C8AE GT 390 heads with new springs, valve seals, locks and oil passages modified for better engine oiling. Hyd flat tappet cam .572 lift/236 Dur@ .05 Edelbrock grind. Aluminum streetmaster intake with Jenkins FE mod done on it. Plenum smoothed, ports matched and blended. AED 750 DP carb calibrated for an Air/Fuel ratio of 13-1. Distributor is curved for custom advance and runs an Ignitor III unit with rev limiter. Engine has 1000 miles since new. Electric fuel pump with 3/8 fuel lines. 4 speed transmission bigshaft toploader with rare Galaxie correct shifter for NON-Console/ bucket seat car. 406 cast iron Ford shorty headers flowing into 2 1/2 aluminum dual exhaust into flowmasters. 100 amp 1 wire alternator with correct mounting for 1963, hi flow water pump, aluminum 3 row radiator with FE overflow tank and 2 electric fans wired through safety relays. Estimated 400 horsepower. Front end completely rebuilt last month. All new ball joints, bushings, outer tie rods, springs, front shocks. Front A arm links converted to the 427 PI solid shaft style for better braking and roll control. New front discs installed with dual M/C and front/rear residual valves for better pedal feel on the manual brakes. Rear end has big 2 1/2 inch drums with all brake hardware re-done. New axle bearings. New 3rd member non-posi 3.50 gear ratio 9 inch. Rear shackles and bushings replaced. Manual steering box is tight and operates perfect. New tires 215/60r15 front and 235/60r15 Goodrich radials in back. New aluminum 5 star rims 15X7 and 15X8. Front and rear bumpers are painted aluminum for lightweight look. The car is a 406 clone, and has the proper badging (not stick ons). All weatherstripping is new, seats are all new, carpet is new, seatbelts recently installed front and rear. Dash is super nice, has all the original delete panels for radio, heater/fan, clock. I have the heater box but its not installed in order to keep with the delete panel and lightweight style. All dash lights work and windows all roll up and down as they should. Paint is 3 years old and it is Wimbledon White. Id give it a 7 out of 10, but Im being very critical. Small nicks here and there but less than 5 of them I would guess. Paint would really wake up with a buff or color sand. It never got the final buff after paint, even though it shines nicely now. It is an original Ford Laquer type paint. The exterior trim is all there and in better than average condition. As expected some small pin size dents here and there, roof rail in very good shape. Trim has some light oxidation but Im just trying to be as critical as possible and you may not even notice it. The frame is solid, and the floors have 3 4X2 inch patches where some rust was cut out and replaced. Undercarriage in the rearend area has light surface corrosion, but it is NOT rusted through. Again just being critical. All panels line up nice and gaps are all very nice. The car is better than a daily driver but not a trailer queen show car. Id give it an 8 out of 10. It is not a perfect show car. I drive her and cruise in confidence. I enter it in local car shows during summer for fun.VIN#3U68Z183755 Door Tag is in picturesThis car is very nice and cost me 2X my reserve. All work done professionaly and owned/garaged by a Ford mechanic of 25 years. Challenges on the car are as follows.... Headliner sagging a bit (see pic), drivers 1/4 window crank needs replacing, car drives great but could use an alignment since the front end was just redone. Door locks don't lock. When it rains hard there is a small leak in the parking brake area. Parking brake is not hooked up. Im not trying to be negative but rather trying to be straight up and open about things I would replace if I were to keep it.This car is a lot of fun, and Ive really enjoyed it but Im in the market for an early Mustang fastback and one of the toys needs to go to make room.Questions.... email or call 818-521-6058 between 9am-8pm Pacific west coast time please. Disclaimer: Im being as open as possible, describing it the best I can, and want the next owner to be happy with what he has..... If you have questions ASK, any concerns ASK. If you have negative feedback or less than 10 contact me before bidding or I will erase your bid. No head games please. I will help load for shipping but cost is buyers responsibility. *****I found a typo with my description and a lot of interest on the car..... It is Corinthian white (not Wimbledon) with black interior, it is a factory 500 NOT an XL, trans and rear end are all numbers matching as well as engine and trans. Sorry for any confusion everyone.
