HERE IS A PRISTINE CLASSIC VOLKSWAGEN TYPE 1 BEETLE THAT WAS ASSEMBLED ORIGINALLY IN THE WOLFSBURG GERMANY PLANT IN 1953. THE PLANT WHERE THIS CAR WAS MANUFACTURED WAS SCHEDULED TO BE CLOSED AND DISMANTLED DURING THE WAR AND WAS LATER RE-OPENED IN 1946 AND THAT IS WHEN THE PLANT AND THE TOWN IT WAS LOCATED IN ADOPTED THE NAME "WOLFSBURG" THIS VEHICLE DOES PROUDLY BOAST AN ORIGINAL WOLFSBURG CREST ON THE FRONT HOOD. THIS VOLKSWAGEN WAS ONE OF THE FIRST BEETLES TO BE PRODUCED WITH THE SINGLE OVAL REAR WINDOW IN MARCH OF 1953 VOLKSWAGEN WENT FROM THE 2 PIECE SPLIT REAR WINDOW TO THE SLIGHTLY LARGER ONE PIECE OVAL DESIGN SEEN IN THIS VEHICLE. I BELIEVE I AM THE THIRD OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE, I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN GERMANY IN 1954 AND SOLD TO ITS SECOND OWNER IN 1970 IN GERMANY. THE VEHICLE SHIPPED FROM GERMANY TO THE US IN 1975 WHERE IT LANDED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND WAS DRIVEN THERE FOR SEVERAL YEARS UNTIL BEING PUT AWAY IN A GARAGE IN THE EARLY 1980'S. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT TO LAS VEGAS I WAS TOLD SOMETIME DURING THE LATE 80S AND WAS WAS OWNED BY THE SAME FAMILY UNTIL I GOT AHOLD OF THE VEHICLE IN 2011. THE BODY WAS IN AMAZING SHAPE AND THE ORIGINAL PAN DID NOT HAVE A SPOT OF RUST. I AM THE OWNER OF A CUSTOM SHOP THAT HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS SINCE 1989 IN LAS VEGAS. I HAVE LOVED AND COLLECTED CLASSIC VOLKSWAGENS SINCE MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS IN THE 80'S. I HAVE 14 BUSSES RIGHT NOW, SEVERAL GHIAS AND 11 DIFFERENT BEETLES RANGING IN YEARS FROM 1953 TO 1975. WHEN THE ECONOMY WENT BAD A FEW YEARS AGO MY COMPANY WAS GETTING SLOW AND MY RETAIL BUSINESS DROPPED BY 80 PERCENT. I HAD NUMEROUS VEHICLES I HAD COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS AND IN ORDER TO KEEP MY WORKERS EMPLOYED I STARTED HAVING THEM RESTORE MY PERSONAL VEHICLES AND WE STARTED SELLING THEM TO CLIENTS ALL OVER THE WORLD. WE BUILD AND CUSTOMIZE EVERY KIND OF CAR UNDER THE SUN BUT MY PASSION IS ALWAYS VW. WE TOOK THE BODY OFF THE PAN AND COMPLETELY DIS ASSEMBLED THE VEHICLE AND MADE CERTAIN ALL PARTS WERE LASER STRAIGHT BEFORE APPLYING ANY PAINT. THE PAN WE HAD MEDIA BLASTED TO BARE METAL AND REFINISHED IN HIGH GLOSS BLACK. DURING THE RE-ASSEMBLY WE REPLACED EVERY PIECE OF RUBBER TRIM AND EVERY PIECE OF CHROME AND STAINLESS WITH NEW PARTS. WE BUY THE HIGHEST QUALITY GERMAN PARTS WE CAN GET OUR HANDS ON. WE ALSO REFURBISH THE OE PARTS THAT ARE SALVAGEABLE TO BETTER THAN NEW QUALITY. THE BUMPERS ON THIS CAR ARE THE ORIGINAL BUMPERS THAT WE HAD STRIPPED AND TRIPLE CHROME PLATED. WE USED ALL ORIGINAL GLASS IN THE VEHICLE FOR NOSTALGIA PURPOSE THE GLASS IS ALL IN VERY VERY GOOD SHAPE, THE WINDSHIELD DOES HAVE A FEW SCRATCHES THAT CAN BE BUFFED OUT BUT I DID NOT FEEL IT WAS NECESSARY AS IT IS ORIGINAL. THE REST OF THE CAR IS FLAWLESS THE PAINT AND BODY ARE STUNNING THE INTERIOR I ASSURE YOU IS ONE OF THE FINEST YOU WILL EVER SEE. WE DO IN HOUSE UPHOLSTERY BUT THIS CAR WE SENT THE SEATS AND DOOR PANELS TO LENNY COPP OF WEST COAST CLASSIC VWS TO HAVE THEM UPHOLSTERED. LENNY IS BY FAR THE COUNTRIES VW AFICIONADO WHEN IT COMES TO ORIGINAL INTERIORS AND WE WANTED THIS CAR TO BE EXACT. I PERSONALLY ORDERED THE MATERIALS FOR THE SEATS AND PANELS DIRECT FROM GERMANY AND SENT THE MATERIALS WITH THE SEATS TO BE DONE. WE INSTALLED IN HOUSE THE NEW FACTORY MOHAIR HEADLINER, THE GERMAN WEAVE CARPETING AND THE FACTORY RUBBER MATS. WE ALSO OF COURSE REPLACED OR RESTORED EVERY INTERIOR BUTTON, KNOB OR SWITCH. EVERY LIGHT IN THE CAR WORKS AS DOES ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MECHANICALLY THIS CAR IS ALSO LIKE BRAND NEW, WE REBUILT THE FACTORY MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED EVERY NUT AND BOLT IN THE FRONT END AND REAR END. EVERYTHING IS NEW OR PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED TO FACTORY SPECS. WE EVEN KEPT AND REBUILT THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION WITH THE CRASH BOX NON SYNCHRO FIRST GEAR. EVERYTHING INSIDE IS NEW OR RESTORED TO NEW QUALITY. MANY PEOPLE TOLD ME TO PUT A FREEWAY FLYER IN THIS CAR BUT WE WANTED IT TO BE ORIGINAL. OUR IN HOUSE VW TECH HAS BEEN WORKING ON AIR COOLED VW AND PORSCHE FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND IS ONE OF THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE VOLKSWAGEN ENGINE BUILDERS ALIVE. THE WHEELS ARE ORIGINAL THE WHITE WALL TIRES WERE NOT AN OPTION FROM THE FACTORY THAT I KNOW OF BUT THEY GIVE THE VEHICLE A GREAT CLASSIC LOOK. UNDER TO FRONT BONNET IS BEAUTIFUL AND LIKE THE REST OF THE VEHICLE IT IS CLEAN ENOUGH TO EAT OFF OF. WE LEFT WHAT WE BELIEVE IS THE ORIGINAL GLOVE BOX CASE INTACT BECAUSE OF ITS VINTAGE LOOK AND WE HAVE A BRAND NEW ONE THAT COMES WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A EUROPEAN MODEL VEHICLE AND IS OF COURSE EQUIPPED WITH SEMAPHORES FOR TURN SIGNALS WHICH ARE A HUGE HIT ANYTIME YOU TURN A CORNER OR CHANGE LANES. PH. 702.303.4711 SOME INTERESTING VOLKSWAGEN HISTORY- In April 1934, Adolph Hitler gave the order to Ferdinand Porsche to develop a Volkswagen (literally, "people's car" in German, pronounced [ˈfolksvaːɡən]). The epithet Volks- literally, "people's-" had been previously applied to other Nazi sponsored consumer goods such as the Volksempfänger ("people's radio"). There followed, in May 1934, a meeting at Berlin’s Kaiserhof Hotel at which Chancellor Hitler provided Porsche with more details, insisting on a basic vehicle, capable of transporting two adults and three children at 100 km/h (62 mph) while not using more than 7 litres of fuel per 100 km (32 mpg US/39 mpg UK). The engine had to be powerful enough for rapid sustained cruising on Germany’s new Autobahnen. Everything had to be designed to ensure worn out parts could be quickly and inexpensively exchanged. The engine had to be air-cooled because, as Hitler explained, not every country doctor had his own garage. The "People's Car" would be available to citizens of the Third Reich through a savings scheme, or Sparkarte (savings booklet), at 990 Reichsmark, about the price of a small motorcycle.
