This truck is in great shape, from 20 feet it looks new, shines like new, it's quiet for a diesel, in fact some gassers aren't as quiet. Nothing to hide here, I spell out what I have seen, good or bad. This is an unmolested first generation, Cummins, 12-valve Turbo Diesel with low miles, in near excellent shape. Rides nice and smooth! Always properly maintained truck. Formerly a City of Lancaster (PA) Bureau of Fire utility vehicle. When truck was not in use, it was stored indoor in a heated garage. And as with all fire equipment, exterior was washed regularly. Paint is still bright and shines well. Truck is in as purchased condition, when detailed it will look almost new. Starts immediately, runs smoothly and 4 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, anti-spin differential has no noises or vibrations of any kind. Air conditioning works great. Standard AM/FM radio (turns on, but I haven't used it). All four tires were pulled at last annual PA inspection 74 miles ago. Any part not meeting PA inspection guidelines was replaced (after all lives may be at risk in a fire). Here's a quick cab "walk-around" starting at the drivers door walking clockwise and back to drivers door, then from drivers seat to passenger seat.Driver Door - good shape, no rust anywhere, opens and closes as it should, hinges work great, latch closes firmly, no rattles, window rolls down and up easily, wing window works as it should. Door has small dent on inside bottom edge, to see it, you have to lay on your back and look up at the bottom of the door. Mirror chrome is bright and shiny, mirror seems loose.Left Front Fender - good shape, no rust anywhere.Hood - good shape, no rust anywhere, sound insulation in great shape, no sags, tears or rips, just a little dirtyGrille and Bumper - bright and shiny, right bumper guard has slight rub on edge, grille has 2" (+/-) crack at top, looks like a scratch.Right Front Fender - good shape, no rust anywhere.Passenger Door - good shape, no rust anywhere, opens and closes as it should, hinges work great, latch closes firmly, no rattles, window rolls down and up easily, wing window works as it should, Mirror chrome is bright and shiny.Back of Cab - good shape, no rust anywhere. There are four drilled holes about 1/4" dia. through back panel that were used to mount something. Glass - all glass is scratch and pit free, this truck was not used on the highway, so you don't have any pitting like highway vehicles have.Drivers Seat - seat is full width bench, good shape with exception to: drivers side, the top surface at bottom of the seat back has a small 1/8 x 2 piece of top vinyl off, and one line of stitching in a short section of seat bottom is loose, rest of seat is fine.Instrument Panel - looks new, could use a good detailing to look showroom new. Dashboard top panel and remaining firewall mounted panels - plastic is in good condition with no cracks, small panel between ashtray and steering column has holes drilled into it for past use, as does panel on right of instrument panel, see pics.Floor Panels - cab corners are dry and solid, no rust, drivers floor repaired, was rusted from the inside due to emergency equipment wiring going through plastic cap/plug in firewall not being sealed properly, passenger floor is dry and solid. Part of aluminum strip at edge of floor mat is missing.Roof - good shape, has two silicone sealed holes where antennae were mounted, rain gutter has places that had light bar mounts that stained paint, should clean up.Utility Bed - Manufactured by Reading. Solid all around, exterior is bright and shiny, doors are solid, all compartments open/close as they should, all compartments have locks that function smoothly and properly, inside of bed had what looks like a tank of some sort (diesel?) mounted at forward end, there is some light scaling on diamond plate flooring directly behind where tank was mounted, interior of bed sides have normal use scratches on paint, tailgate opens and closes freely, there are four small rust spots that are normal for Reading bodies and are easy repairs, no holes, just bubbled paint.Tires - Goodyear Transforce HT LT235/85R16, all four the same with 10/32 tread.Hitch - Drawtite V5, rated for weight distribution: 8,000# trailer/800# tongue or ball mount: 5,000# trailer/500# tongue. has both 7 pin and 4 pin trailer wire connection.Lettering - at an angle you can still faintly see some of the fire bureau lettering on the doors, a good paint cleaner should be able to remove the ghosting.Please look at the pictures, this is a solid truck, nearly all sheet metal is like new without any rust, aside the aforementioned repair. Ask questions about anything, I'll do my best to supply answers or additional pictures you may require. I've done a better job describing flaws than the good points. I believe in being honest, some people have told me I'm brutally honest, but if I were buying something I wouldn't want any surprises, therefore, I don't want to surprise anyone either. Truck is for sale locally and may be purchased locally before auction ends, therefore I reserve the right to end auction early. However, my intent is to sell the truck on eBay.
