Up for bids is a very clean 1985 Toyota Celica GTS convertible with 145k miles on it. As you can see in the pictures the car is in very nice shape overall for a 30 year old vehicle. Has the 4 cylinder 22RE engine with manual 5 speed...this engines will go forever! The car runs and shifts nicely with all the gauges, lights, locks working except the cruise control and power side mirrors. The spark plugs, wires and oil/filter were all just changed within the few months as well. As with any 30 year old original car the car does have some flaws that I am going to list below. I have perfect feedback and want it to stay that way...so I will list everything about the car so you know what you are buying! Please ask questions about the car before you bid and only bid if you intend to buy. Pro's - Car is very clean inside and out, car idles shifts accelerates very nice. - The car as very minimal if any rust overall as you can see in pictures. It has been in southern climate (TN) most of it's life and kept inside. - Car interior is free of any tears, convertible top is in good overall shape and power top works good. - Again all power windows work good, locks, CD radio, breaks turning signal, front pop up lights. - Has Viper keyless entry (locks and unlocks) and alarm peeps when you lock vehicle (lights flash as well). - New spark plug, wires oil/filter change within last 2 weeks or so. - Battery is a nice newer battery - Car has good oil pressure and power through all gears. Runs down the highway very nice! - AC and heat work great with good pressure...AC is nice and cold. Con's - Car does have some smoke (blue) on cold startup. My mechanic said it was probably worn valves which is common on the Toyota 4 cylinder 22RE engine. Doesn't effect performance of vehicle at all. - Toyota also has a tick at idle which again my mechanic say's is common on these 22re older engines (valves, lifters possible can be adjusted to fix this but didn't bother me) Once the car warms the tick is not as noticeable. No knocks or other funny sounds. - Car does leak a little oil when it sits in garage. - Dash has crack in the middle but I do have a new dash that will be included with purchase. - Cruise control not working...light engages on dash but won't set. - Power mirrors are working from center console area. Small car so I just move them manually. - small hole in carpet on the driver side from getting in and out of vehicle. - check engine light randomly will come on every once in a while (probably 02 sensor). Does not stay on or effect performance. - Tires have good tread but are old and have some dry rot like normal older tires. - Tires probably need to be rotated and balanced because getting a little shimmy between 50-60mph on the road. 60mph and above runs nice and straight. - Rotors are good and pads have life left but are squeaking...if I was keeping car I would replace pads. I am going to add a video of the car running, idling, and driving over the next couple days. Again please ask all questions before you intend to buy. Car is in great overall shape but still is a 30 year old car that is not perfect. Car is sold as is and with no warranty etc. I have set the reserve very low and will work with anyone that needs to car shipped! Thanks!
