Vehicle Detail
For your consideration... One of the very last. Here we have a 1979 VW Beetle Convertible. Karmann Edition. One of the very last VW Beetles imported to the U.S. It was built in December of 1979, in the last month of production for the VW Beetle, in beautiful, old Germany. This vehicle is in excellent condition. It looks, feels, and even smells like a new car. Engine is completely original, with original fuel injection system. This VW Beetle drives great, brakes well, and the engine has plenty of power. Faithfully restored by German with an eye for detail, and a strong appreciation for vintage VW and Porsche vehicles. This vehicle has never been in a collision. The vehicle body was recently painted in the original Florida Blue color, with three coats of clear using quality DuPont products, then buffed to a high shine. The paint job is superb and done in the correct manner, where the fenders, doors, and so one were removed when painted. Also painted were the trunk, interior, wheel wells, and even under the fenders to give the owner an appreciation of the appearance it would have had when new. The color combo of light blue with the off-white top is probably one of the best combo for the Beetle Convertible. The vehicle has new brakes, engine has been serviced, and new muffler/exhaust system has been installed. The interior has been completely refurbished to original standards. New seat upholstery, carpet, and seat padding replaced with the original style coconut hair padding. It feels like it should! All of the pleasantries that made these cars so fun were preserved in the restoration process. Odometer reads 47,914. The engine is very spirited, runs excellent, and starts right up. Being a fuel injected car, the reliability is a lot like a modern car. Restored with originality always in mind. The only change in that regard was the addition of a modern IPOD/IPHONE ready stereo system with speakers mounted near the foot wells. This was done to give the car a nice sound system, without drilling holes into the door panels as is so often done when folks want a little better sound system than the 70′s era radio. The vehicle is also pre-wired for rear speakers. Many original German parts were used in this restoration such as the aluminum trim mouldings, bumper rubbers, and aluminum gravel guards. A car like this, when stored properly, will not decrease in value. For more pictures, visit UBER-WERKS.COM
