this explorer is in great shape to use for parts. The transmission has only 30,000 miles on it, the exhaust was put on just a month before it died. It can be fixed if you buy a rear timing chain kit. If you do it yourself it would cost you about $600. The eighth VIN # is E. it is a 4.0L SOHC. I wanted to fix it but can't come up with the money so I need to sell it. take the bumpers, doors, tranny,exhaust, even the windshield sell them then junk it for about $300. I'm sure you can make more then asking price on the parts. especially the tranny. It's worth at least $600. I would but don't have the time to take it all apart. must sell ASAP so i may consider any price close to 800
