Vehicle Detail

This is a 1941 Studebaker Commander Skyway Landcruiser 4 door. It has 81,669 miles and was last driven in 1990, It spent most of its life in Albuquerque New Mexico. It was put into storage in 1994 and i pulled it out this year. I have not had it running but it does turn over with the starter and the oil looks good in the crankcase. I was told that the car had the engine overhauled at about 75,000 miles. It needs a total restoration but is a good solid car to start with. Keys were lost but a lock shop can make them. The title vin number H162510 is the engine number on my Texas title even though the New Mexico title had the car serial number on it. In 1941 Texas used the engine number and insisted that i use it after having it verified. It is very solid and straight body. There is a small dent in the left rear fender just infront of the bumper end. The center rear bumper guard is missing. The floors look good and the trunk looks good. Even the well in the back is good. The orginal Spare tire cap is there as will as the jack and lug wrench. The fender skirts are nice. The one has a scratch in the paint but no crease. The trunk lid has had a dent repaired it looks like many years ago. I think the car has had one repaint about 35 years ago. The top of the roof has red oxide primer showing. Underside is prety nice even though the pic's show light rust arround. Stearing wheel was that tan plastic and it has just decentergrated. Horn button part is nice. Crome needs redone but no heavy rust on the bumpers. The bumper guards are straight. The stainless is in nice condition. Pot metal needs replated but is not all pitted and will plate very well. The trunk handle was broken and i made a tempory one. Headliner was removed as it was falling down This car has very little rust and will make a realy nice car. I have a low milage 42 commander already and just can not keep this one. The tires hold air and the car rolls but has no brakes. Payment is by cash in person or a bank transfer only within 7 days of the auction closing. A non refundable deposite of $500 by Paypal is required. Removal is whithin 45 days of the auction closing unless seller agrees to a extension. On Oct-08-14 at 06:26:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Headliner cloth is removed but bows are present. Transmission is three speed with overdrive. Car has Clock. Glove box bottom was removed to gain entry. Thanks Mark
